Recommendations for Optimal Sound Quality
All audio cables require a period of break-in for the sound quality to reach its full sonic potential. We recommend the following lengths of time to fully break in your hi-fi cables and equipment.
Headphones
All headphones: 300 hours
Moon Audio recommends giving headphones 300 hours to break in both mechanically and electrically. Although most of the break-in process occurs within the first 100 hours, this allows time for the drivers to open up and gives you the best experience. We suggest connecting your headphones to internet radio each night while you sleep for an easy break-in experience. They should be broken in after seven days.

Toslink Cables
Toslink cables require no break-in, as they pass light; thus, it is not an electrical process. No burn-in required.

Phono Cables

Quick Tip: If you have expensive phono cartridges or tubes, you might want to consider using an inexpensive audio system for breaking in new phono cables. This will allow for a break-in without giving up some of the lifetime of your more expensive components.
