Black Dragon Premium Cable for HiFiMan HE1000 Headphones V2
The Black Dragon V2 Premium Cable for Susvara, HE-1000, Edition X, HE-560 headphones is a Premium version of the Black Dragon. It will work on most 2.5mm female headphone sockets such as those used on the Hifiman headphones. Thus this is not limited to just the HE-1000 headphone.
The Black Dragon Premium smooths out the high-energy top end while tightening up and controlling the bottom end or bass and also makes the mid-range more musical.
Quality You Can Trust
Most stock headphone cables are made of poor, ultra-thin conductors that work as a bottleneck for sound. Poor geometries, no shielding, rubber jackets, and a whole host of other issues in OEM (stock) cables can limit the performance of the headphone driver in terms of clarity and definition.
Dragon Cables are handcrafted from quality materials in Moon Audio's offices in Cary, North Carolina. All of our cables are created with ultra pure, single-crystal silver and copper strands and engineered to provide the cleanest, most musical presentation. Our wire is void of impurities and crystalline boundaries, leaving nothing between you and your music.
Black Dragon Sound Signature
The Black Dragon is warm and smooth with a musical presentation. Copper strands enhance the body, shape, and immediacy of the music. The detail and expansiveness of the Black Dragon make it a flexible fit where a broad range of musical genres are played. It can also improve bass frequencies on bass-light headphones.
The smooth, musical quality makes it a perfect fit for headphones that tend to sound a bit edgy or bright. Despite its warmth, the Black Dragon does not have a laid back, lush sound. It is much closer to neutral, making it a very natural sounding cable.

The Premium Difference
Premium Dragon Cables offer the same quality construction as the standard line, featuring UP-OCC 99.99998% pure conductors and matching cable designs with a few upgrades. Cardas Silver Solder is replaced with Mudorf MSolder SUPREME Silver-Gold mix at every connection point, and premium Furutech Rhodium connectors are included to enhance the look, feel and listening pleasure of all your hifi music sessions. When you are trying to squeeze out every last percentage point of performance, the Premium version makes sense. The Furutech Top Line connectors are quite simply the best made, and every point of signal saturation makes a difference.
Is there a night and day difference between the sound quality of the standard and premium? No. Is the Premium the best of the best? Yes. These cables are meant for cream-of-the-crop headphones where every detail makes a difference in bringing you closer to audio nirvana.
The Black Dragon headphone cable is the original black dragon and it uses 4 x 21.5AWG Teflon insulated stranded conductors using pure single crystallized UP-OCC pure copper with 7N purity 99.99998%. It is a wonderful match for HiFiMan, Grado, AKG, Sennheiser and many other high end headphones.
For the Black Dragon Premium, we use the Oyaide Rhodium plated 2.5mm mini plug on the headphone side. Each conductor is made up of a special varying size stranding geometry. The copper stranding is mixed with Kevlar stranding to reinforce the conductor. Making it stronger overall and less prone to failure due to the harsh constant flexing a headphone cable receives. The conductors are then surrounded by cotton and then a layer of Teflon tape. The new version is also shielded and placed in a polyethylene jacket for further protection.
The default 1/4" Plug is the new Furutech CF-763. Furutech’s beautifully finished, beautiful sounding CF-763 connectors are the result of meticulous engineering and careful audition of various suitable materials. The CF-763 features a non-magnetic, Rhodium-plated α (Alpha) phosphor bronze conductor and Fluoropolymer insulation for minimal impedance and a nonmagnetic stainless and carbon fiber finished housing for superior damping.
For XLR connections there are 2 choices. The FP-601M（R) XLR which uses a Beryllium copper and phosphor bronze α (Alpha) Conductor: the body is a Copper alloy with PVDF Fluoropolymer insulation. The second choice is the top of the line CF-601M（R）XLR which utilizes an α (Alpha) Beryllium copper and phosphor bronze Rhodium-plated Conductor with Carbon fiber and nonmagnetic stainless steel housing. The Body is PVDF Fluoropolymer insulation with a Specially designed cable strain relief.
The cable is extremely smooth sounding with great low end and wonderful voicing. If you listen to any type of music then this is the cable will suit your needs. It is a little more rounded than the Blue Dragon with a fuller sound and more bottom end weight.

Thanks a million for your service, both on cable and mail.
About the cable, this was amazing such a big difference compared to the original stock cable. You can hear every detail.
This is one of the best upgrades I have ever bought. Sorry if my English is not perfect but I am from Belgium.
Sounds exactly as described and of quality build.
The top was controlled but extended, the bottom tight, and the instrument presence and separation was wonderful.
I highly reccommend this cable.
By the way I also use this cable on my HD800's and it is fantastic in taming the highs.
Thanks, Moon Audio!
I can't imagine ever using the stock cable as the sound was dull in comparison to the Black Dragon. I don't have the Silver Dragon to compare it to but I'm sure it is wonderful as well.
