It's a great cable for warm headphones and for those who enjoy critical listening, and it pairs well with all genres, particularly classical, jazz, and other music with lots of nuance and instrumentation.
Our Silver Dragon Premium cables use 4 x 24.0 AWG Teflon-insulated stranded conductors using pure single crystallized UP-OCC silver with 7N purity 99.99998% and feature enhancements like Mundorf Msolder SUPREME SilverGold and premium Furutech connectors to enhance the look, feel, and pleasure of your hi-fi listening sessions. If you want the best of the best, our premium cables are the ultimate match for your favorite audiophile headphones.Compatible with these Dan Clark Audio headphones: AEON, AEON 2, AEON 2 Noire, ETHER 2, ETHER Flow, ETHER C Flow, and Stealth.
Most stock headphone cables are made of poor, ultra-thin conductors that work as a bottleneck for sound. Poor geometries, no shielding, rubber jackets, and a whole host of other issues in OEM cables can limit the performance of the headphone driver in terms of clarity and definition.
Dragon Cables are handcrafted from quality materials in Moon Audio's headquarters in Cary, North Carolina. All of our cables are created with ultra-pure, single-crystal silver and copper strands and engineered to provide the cleanest, most musical presentation. Our wire is void of impurities and crystalline boundaries, leaving nothing between you and your music.
Premium Dragon Cables offer the same quality construction as the standard line, featuring UP-OCC 99.99998% pure conductors and matching cable designs with a few upgrades. Cardas Silver Solder is replaced with Mundorf MSolder SUPREME Silver-Gold mix at every connection point, and premium Furutech Rhodium connectors are included to enhance the look, feel and listening pleasure of all your hifi music sessions. When you are trying to squeeze out every last percentage point of performance, the Premium version makes sense. The Furutech Top Line connectors are quite simply the best made, and every point of signal saturation makes a difference.
Is there a night and day difference between the sound quality of the standard and premium? No. Is the Premium the best of the best? Yes. These cables are meant for cream-of-the-crop headphones where every detail makes a difference in bringing you closer to audio bliss.
Silver strands clarify instrument separation, increase soundstage, and find previously lost high and mid-frequency sounds. Transients appear more cohesive and the bass tighter for a more controlled sound. The detail and clarity of the Silver Dragon make it a perfect match for classical music and other genres with many nuanced instruments.

Dan Clark Audio headphones are made with planar magnetic drivers, giving them a warmer sound signature. This warmth makes them a strong match with a more neutral or analytical cable. The neutrality of the Silver Dragon will highlight the detail and enhance the clarity of Dan Clark headphones without sacrificing their inherent warmer tones.
Most Dan Clark Audio headphones use a proprietary 4-pin locking connection in a dual-entry design. The same connector is used in a single-entry configuration on the Mad Dog headphones.
The Silver Dragon Headphone Cable is our top-of-the-line headphone cable. It is constructed using silver conductors, using four 99.99998% UP-OCC Stranded Silver 24AWG Teflon insulated stranded conductors. It can improve the listening enjoyment of most high-end headphones and it has lots of detail, great energy, and a fantastic soundstage with lots of air.
The latest version of the Silver Dragon Headphone Cable improves the conductor properties with conductors that are free from impurities and have virtually no crystal boundaries. The conductors have almost no distortion compared to ordinary silver conductors. Each conductor is made up of a special varying sized stranded geometry. The silver strandings are mixed with Kevlar standings to reinforce the conductor, making it stronger and less prone to failure due to the constant movement and flexing that headphone cables experience.
Each conductor is encapsulated in a Teflon casing. The conductors are then surrounded by cotton and a thin layer of aluminum foil. It is then protected by a 100% coverage silver plated copper secondary shield and placed in a polyethylene jacket for further protection. To improve its flexibility, we are no longer using a Techflex jacketing as we did with our previous versions.
A variety of connection options are available for your downstream connection such as the mini plug, RCA, XLR and a whole host of others. We custom build these in-house to your connection specifications. The cable can be used in either a single-ended or a balanced design. The wire is soldered to a connector using high quality Cardas silver solder.
Dragon Cables are an easy do-it-yourself upgrade to your favorite headphones with detachable cables. With a wide array of connection options, a plug-and-play cable is just a few clicks away.
We also offer custom headphone hacks for your hard-wired cans, like many Grado, Sennheiser or AKG headphones. For more information on custom headphone modifications, visit our Hack Your Headphones portal.
