What's in the Box?
Warranty
Designed to complement high-end streamers, the Matrix Audio SI-1 Audio Grade Network Isolator is the ultimate premium accessory for those seeking sonic purity. The SI-1 unlocks new possibilities for cleaner signal paths in streaming audio systems, working in synergy with Matrix Audio Streamers and other components.
As the optical masterstroke in your system’s evolution, the SI-1 ensures that every passion for superior sound is brilliantly realized. It elevates your overall system performance, actively raising the ceiling of sound quality while reinforcing the very foundation of audio reproduction.
A Cleaner Sonic Foundation
The Matrix Audio SI-1 Audio Grade Network Isolator serves as the shield in your audio system, protecting performance when it matters most. Featuring active optical-electrical isolation technology, the SI-1 effectively blocks electromagnetic interference generated by routers and network switches.
By purifying network noise that can interfere with audio signals, it also breaks ground loops and prevents current noise caused by grounding potential differences between devices. The result is a deeply “black” background, allowing music to emerge with greater clarity and purity.
Two femtosecond clocks
Linear power supply with dual-winding potted toroidal transformer and multiple LDOs
Precision in Every Detail
A dual-channel optical transmission architecture enables independent sending and receiving paths, eliminating mutual interference at the source and preventing signal crosstalk. Two femtosecond clocks, combined with a linear power supply using a dual-winding toroidal transformer and multiple LDOs, ensure stable, clean power delivery.
This design ensures data integrity, reduces transmission errors and jitter, improves timing accuracy, and allows musical details to be rendered with exceptional precision.
Meticulous Design--- Refined Aesthetics
The SI-1 continues Matrix Audio’s industrial design language, featuring a CNC-machined unibody aluminum enclosure that not only delivers a premium touch, but also enhances shielding against external interference.
Front panel LED indicators keep you informed of the device’s current status, while switchable LEDs on the Ethernet port eliminate any additional light pollution that may disrupt your listening experience.
Front LED indicators
The LED indicators on the front-panel displays the status of the device clearly.
Switchable LEDs on the Ethernet port
The rear-panel Ethernet port LEDs can be switched on or off to eliminate light pollution—demonstrating careful consideration for real listening environments and uninterrupted musical immersion.
FAQs
Where should I place the SI-1 in my system?
The most effective placement is directly before the audio device — router or switch → SI-1 → streamer or DAC. This positions the isolation barrier as close as possible to the sensitive audio component, ensuring the cleanest signal arrives at the device and that your soundstage benefits from the lowest possible noise floor. For systems with a dedicated audio network switch, the SI-1 can be placed between the router and the audio switch, making it the primary isolation node between the dirty home network and the entire audio network segment. If you're running multiple network streamers or music servers, placing the SI-1 upstream of the SS-1 Pro Audio Grade Network Switch lets a single isolator protect all downstream devices at once.
