Designed for discerning listeners and collectors alike, the Gold Dragon Interconnect stands as both a technical achievement and a tribute to decades of American craftsmanship and audio innovation.
The Premium Difference
Much like all of our Premium Dragon Audio Cables, the Gold Dragon Premium Interconnect Cable is built using only the best materials available. The UP-OCC pure conductors with a Gold Alloy plating are matched with Mundorf MSolder SUPREME Silver-Gold mix at every connection point. To maximize this pure signal transfer, the cable utilizes our custom Moon Audio connectors, which feature a non-coaxial, "Single Point Contact" conduction structure to minimize resistance, capacitance, and inductance.
Depending on your system's needs, the interconnect is terminated with one of two precision-engineered options:
Moon Audio Premium 3-pin XLR: Designed to unlock the full potential of balanced audio systems, this connector uses high-purity tellurium copper signal pins finished with a durable, non-magnetic rhodium plating for pristine signal transfer and consistently low contact resistance. It features a PTFE dielectric for insulation stability and a rigid, multi-part metal housing with a threaded assembly. This robust three-pin configuration minimizes noise and micro-arcing while delivering audible improvements in detail retrieval, imaging, tonal accuracy, and dynamic range.
Moon Audio Premium RCA: Built for long-term mechanical stability and signal purity in analog systems, this connector also utilizes rhodium-plated high-purity tellurium and copper conductors. A reinforced latch, precision-machined shell, screw-lock assembly, and glass-fiber-reinforced nylon composite body work together to ensure a tight, vibration-resistant connection. The optimized contact interface and grounding structure help deliver tighter bass response, enhanced overall resolution, improved clarity, and a significantly quieter background.

Gold Dragon Sound Signature
The Gold Dragon provides a significantly more musical and more emotional sound than the Bronze Dragon. It leans into a distinctly warmer-sounding and more organic profile, pulling the listener deeper into the heart of the performance. By combining high-purity copper with a gold infusion, it delivers an exceptional balance of warmth, resolution, and harmonic richness. The result is a presentation that captures micro-details with finesse while maintaining a lush, natural tonal body. Gold Dragon Cable Design
The geometry of the Gold Dragon is identical to that of our Silver and Bronze Dragon cables. It features the same eight-wire braided geometry made up of solid-core 26-AWG Teflon-insulated wire with an external shield for added protection. The braided geometry itself acts as a noise-rejection barrier, which is further reinforced with an iron curtain external shield—making it highly durable and completely insulated against interference in PC Hi-Fi systems and Pro Studios.
The Gold Dragon Interconnect is different only in its core material: instead of using UP-OCC Silver or UP-OCC copper wire, it utilizes a 1% Gold Alloy plating over a UP-OCC copper for the conductor. This distinct metallurgical combination is what yields its beautifully warm and musical sound. A brass shielding layer provides superior EMI and RFI rejection, preserving the purity of the audio signal across even the most revealing systems. The cable is finished with dual layers of Techflex, ensuring durability, flexibility, and a refined aesthetic that reflects its flagship status. Every element of the construction is purpose-driven, combining robust engineering with high-end materials to deliver consistent, reference-level performance.
What is UP-OCC?
UP-OCC stands for Ultra-Pure Ohno Continuous Casting (OCC). This is not a material, but a way of extruding silver and copper to prevent any impurities and fractures in the crystalline structure of the wire. The wire is drawn very slowly to cast an almost perfect single-crystal, small-diameter conductor. The resulting purity and the size of the cast wire make a tremendous difference in signal transmission.
Tailored Moon Audio Connectors
The Gold Dragon Interconnect is finished with dual layers of Techflex and is terminated with our new custom Moon Audio RCA or 3-pin XLR connectors. Engineered for high-end audio requirements, both connector types utilize a non-coaxial, "Single Point Contact" conduction structure. By reducing the mass of the conductor and the signal path, this design minimizes resistance, capacitance, and inductance reactions during signal transmission.
The core contact pins and ground pins are constructed from high-purity Tellurium Copper (over 99% pure) and finished with a nickel-free, non-magnetic Rhodium plating for pristine signal transfer. The precision XLR connectors incorporate premium PTFE insulation, while the RCA plugs utilize a glass-fiber-reinforced nylon composite body, providing the flexibility and clamping force necessary for a tight, secure connection to the jack.
Exclusively for Moon Audio, the exterior shells of these premium connectors have been upgraded to feature a sleek Black Powder Coat finish and are engraved with the Moon Audio logo, delivering a refined aesthetic to match their top-tier sonic performance.
