Blue Dragon Headphone Adapter Cable
This is an extension or adapter cable to go with your main Blue Dragon Headphone cable. As more connection types become prevalent, adapter cables are a great solution for wider compatibility with your gear.
If extra length is needed or you need to change terminations on the amplifier end, adapter cables make it more versatile to do quick changes from one connection type to another.
Note: Minimum length for XLR cable is 1.5 feet. Minimum length for 1/4" cable is 1 foot. Please choose accordingly.
Quality You Can Trust
Most stock headphone cables are made of poor, ultra-thin conductors that work as a bottleneck for sound. Poor geometries, no shielding, rubber jackets, and a whole host of other issues in OEM cables can limit the performance of the headphone driver in terms of clarity and definition.
Dragon Cables are handcrafted from quality materials in Moon Audio's headquarters in Cary, North Carolina. All of our cables are created with ultra-pure, single-crystal silver and copper strands and engineered to provide the cleanest, most musical presentation. Our wire is void of impurities and crystalline boundaries, leaving nothing between you and your music.
Blue Dragon Sound Signature
The Blue Dragon is our neutral and natural-sounding cable. It improves dynamics without changing the original flavor of the headphone. Think of the Blue Dragon like a wipe for your eyeglass lenses: You're removing obstructions to the best view but not altering your prescription. The Blue Dragon does just that; it adds more of what the headphone already has and makes it better. You get to hear more of the micro-dynamics of the music without tipping the sound signature forward or making it laid back.
The Blue Dragon pairs well with all genres, especially music full of stringed instruments. You get a better sense of reverberation and quicker decay of the notes. The piano note decays are quicker, almost as if the keys have just had a tune-up. We love this cable with Folk, Americana, Jazz, and singer-songwriter music. Again, there is no right or wrong to which Dragon Cable you choose. It is about what is right or your ears.

Blue Dragon Cable Design
The Blue Dragon V3 Headphone Cable has been designed to match the Silver Dragon V3 Headphone Cable, but with a high-purity copper conductor using the Ohno Continuous Casting Process. The Blue Dragon V3 Headphone Cable has the same geometry structure as the Silver Dragon V3 Headphone Cable, only it uses UP-OCC Single Crystal Copper conductors.
The Blue Dragon V3 is a good fit if you do not want to add coloration but want to improve clarity and dynamics in your headphones. In addition, if you do not want to tip the headphone forward or back, then the Blue Dragon is a wonderful choice and is also the best bang for the buck cable on the market today.
The Sennheiser HD600 has been one of the best phones for classical music because of the smoother, warmer sound. The HD600 is not as dark and laid back as the HD650, and so the neutrality of the Blue Dragon is the better fit for the HD600 signature. It is a great cable for a wide variety of music genres. If you are using a very warm tube amp and a forward headphone, the Blue Dragon is a good choice to keep the sound signature the same. The Blue Dragon V3 is also the most flexible of the full-size headphone cables and makes a good choice for headphones that use a single entry connection point, like the AKG K702 and many of the Ultrasone headphones.

We also use the Blue Dragon V3 Headphone Cable for the Ultrasone, Sony Qualia, AKG Pro Series, and any other headphone that uses a connector attachment system. This cable can also be hard-wired to Grado's, AKG, and Audio Technica headphones, too.
The Blue Dragon Headphone cable uses the same 4 x 24AWG Teflon-insulated stranded conductors using pure single crystallized UP-OCC pure copper with 7N purity 99.99998% as the main cable.
Each conductor is made up of a special, varying-size stranding geometry. The copper stranding is mixed with Kevlar stranding to reinforce the conductor, making it stronger overall and less prone to failure due to the harsh, constant flexing a headphone cable receives.
The conductors are then surrounded by cotton and then a layer of Teflon tape. The new version is now also shielded and placed in a polyethylene jacket for further protection.
Version 3 is quieter than Version 2 with no microphonics. It is a balanced cable geometry that can be terminated for either a single-ended or a balanced configuration.
This cable can be configured in a variety of different ways. Please note that a single-ended signal connection cannot be converted to a balanced signal connection. As the grounds are tied in the single-ended connector. Therefore, only pick this configuration if your amp has no single-ended connection outputs.

What is UP-OCC?
UP-OCC stands for Ultra-Pure Ohno Continuous Casting (OCC). This is not a material, but a way of extruding silver and copper to prevent any impurities and fractures in the crystalline structure of the wire. The wire is drawn very slowly to cast as an almost perfect single-crystal small-diameter conductor. The resulting purity and the size of the cast wire make a tremendous difference, and there is less damage to the near-perfect cast state. We find that this UP-OCC process produces a very clean and close to neutral sound in our copper-based and silver-based cables.

All of the cables make a discernable difference. I had fallen down the rabbit whole and bought cheaper upgrade cables and heard a difference, but curiosity got to try Moon cables and the difference was significant and awesome in detail and soundstage , as well as, the dynamics and feeling of the music. Songs I had heard many times sounded fresh and more alive and I heard sounds I had not heard clearly before. Worth the price if sound and details are important to you. If not, stay with your original cables.

looks well built and sturdy. Nice adaptor for keeping balanced wire on the headphone and using this on non balanced equipment. The minus one star is for the 1/4 connector which is a bit bulky and needs to be carefully inserted/removed. would have prefered something a lit lighter and hence faster to insert/remove.
