Campfire Audio Moon Rover Planar Magnetic Universal IEMs

Neutral, Reference-oriented Sound

Our pick for Critical Listeners

Just shy of $1,200, the Moon Rover IEMs are one of Campfire Audio's most neutral and analytical-sounding models. Across the entire frequency spectrum, the Moon Rover maintains a well-balanced and linear sound. The highs are presented with crystalline detail and the mids sit on even ground with the bass and high frequency response.

At the heart of the Moon Rover IEMs is a full-range, custom 12mm planar magnetic driver, specially crafted to deliver a reference-like sound signature that is even-keeled, crisp, and refined. With even diaphragm movement, planar wavefront, and low total harmonic distortion (THD), the Moon Rover IEMs are capable of exceptional speed and impulse control, contributing to their accurate sonic reproduction.

The Moon Rover stands out with its vivid color scheme, achieved by flame-treating each housing by hand. As a result, the IEMs exhibit a subtle range of color as they catch the light. The IEM's shell is composed of aircraft-grade titanium, chosen for its lightweight and highly durable properties.

Neutral frequency response, superb technicalities, and a unique planar timbre all characterize the Moon Rover IEMs' one-of-a-kind performance.

Campfire Audio Grand Luna Planar Magnetic-BA Hybrid IEMs

Smooth, Resolute Sound

Easy-listening IEM

At $1,399, the Grand Luna IEMs are one of Campfire Audio's most daring models, featuring a planar-BA-hybrid configuration–a first for the hi-fi manufacturer. The Grand Luna possesses the sonic strengths of both driver types, revealing depth and intricate detail while still providing a sound that's rich and sonically satisfying.

Customized and carefully tuned, the Grand Luna's 14mm planar magnetic driver targets low and mid frequencies and applies its signature, vast dynamic range, and rapid transient response. Two premium balanced armature drivers orbit the central planar driver and contribute to its classic speed, detail, and resolution. This combo brings the Grand Luna's high frequency extension upward of 30kHz, adding an ethereal resonance to the already magical sound.

The Grand Luna features a semi-transparent, internally dyed shell in red with a brushed stainless steel lid and colorful, flame-treated CA logo. The housing is none other than Campfire's Additive Acoustic Optical Inclusion (AAOI) housing. This housing features carefully engineered acoustic routing, shaping the Grand Luna's performance and frequency response.

Those who say to "shoot for the stars" must have never landed on the Grand Luna's moon.

Campfire Audio Astrolith Dual Planar Magnetic Universal IEMs

Punchy, Energetic Sound Quality

Speed, Detail, and Technical Precision

At $2,199, the Astrolith IEMs are the epitome of performance, inside and out. Two planar magnetic drivers are used in the Astrolith: a 14mm main driver in Campfire's AAOI housing, and a 6mm planar true high-frequency tweeter paired with Campfire's Particle Phase Resonator (PPR) tuning chamber. This internal architecture highlights the purity of the speed, accuracy, impact, and ultimate resolution that only a planar magnetic driver can deliver.

The Astrolith rivals some of the very best planar magnetic full-size headphones, delivering an impressive performance that's bold and memorable. It takes the best elements of a planar magnetic driver: Speed, accuracy, and precision, and enhances them with a highly satisfying dynamic sound. It's in no way lush or overly warm-sounding, but it's articulate, clean, and controlled.

Wrapped in a semi-transparent, lightweight, 3D-printed acrylic body and a robust, mirror-finished, stainless steel faceplate, the Astrolith IEM is versatile and striking in both appearance and performance.

Campfire Audio Solaris Stellar Horizon Universal IEMs

Elegant Presentation

Reimagining a Campfire Audio Classic, at $2,599, the Solaris Stellar Horizon IEMs feature innovations and updates inside and out. With an expansive, crystalline sonic signature, the Stellar Horizon IEMs present every nuance and detail with astounding resolution, imaging, and layering.

The Stellar Horizon represents the biggest revision in Campfire Audio's Solaris line. A new radial venting system elevates the 10mm dynamic driver's performance, allowing for more even pressure release on all sides of the driver's diaphragm. Three dual-diaphragm balanced armatures, one mid and two high, produce greater sonic output, lower sensitivity, and extremely low harmonic distortion.

The Solaris Stellar Horizon's refined and elegant sound quality is mirrored externally by a re-engineered, brushed stainless steel housing with a custom gold PVD cosmic inlay. Listeners craving an expansive, detailed, and resolving IEM should look no further than the Solaris Stellar Horizon IEM.

Who is Campfire Audio?

Campfire Audio's story begins long before its inception in 2015. In 2007, Ken Ball, founder of Campfire Audio, set up shop in his basement and quickly got to work hand-building premium audio cables under his newly created company Audio Line Out. Well, the demand for premium hi-fi cables was there, and with success came growth, and a rebrand to ALO Audio (as we know it today) followed by the creation of portable amp solutions.

campfire audio owner Ken Ball

The success and passion Ball had for ALO Audio became the driving force behind Campfire Audio. In the summer of 2015, Campfire Audio released its first batch of earphones: The Orion, the Jupiter, and the Lyra. Ball's love for camping and the great outdoors inspired Campfire's unique name as well as much of the celestial names in its product collection.

With a decade in business under its belt, Campfire Audio operates under one mission: To craft unique earphones that sound amazing and bring you closer to your music. It's safe to say they've executed that mission beautifully, always studying acoustics, testing new materials, and fine-tuning their designs to get the best results.

Campfire Audio understands that a great IEM is not renowned for its flashy faceplates and innovative tech, but for the emotion it evokes in the listener. The true beauty of a Campfire Audio IEM lies in its attention to detail and ability to deliver hours upon hours of joyful listening, regardless of your listening style. Whether you're a hardcore audiophile or simply a music lover who loves to lose themself in a great song, Campfire Audio has an IEM that will bring music to your ears.

Beyond Sound: Daring Design and American Artistry

Bold product names are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Campfire Audio's daring approach to IEMs. They're unafraid to take risks, using unique materials, vivid colors, and interesting shapes to make long-lasting, unforgettable IEMs. Each universal IEM in the company's collection has a unique identity, where no two are the same, let alone remotely similar. It's this bold approach to IEM design that makes Campfire Audio stand out among the sea of hi-fi competitors–and it's the packaging and accessories that make them memorable.

Eye-catching IEM designs are usually the stopping place for most manufacturers. Packaging and accessories are typically afterthoughts thrown together in the final production phase with recycled materials from past releases. For Campfire Audio, this is where the true fun begins. You may have encountered a Campfire Audio IEM before and not known it. That was my experience with CFA. I had heard their name in the audiophile community, seen their packaging a thousand times, but never put two and two together until I received my first pair to demo.

Campfire Audio puts immense effort and attention to detail into the packaging and presentation of its IEMs. From the incredibly detailed artwork on every box to the endless accessories included with each product, Campfire Audio sets the bar remarkably high for competitors. Take a minute to oo and awe at the outside packaging, but open up the box and you'll be even more amazed as the incredible artwork continues inside. CFA uses truly every square inch of the packaging, including intentional messaging, illustrations, IEM insertion instructions, and tips for achieving the best fit.

When it comes to universal IEMs, Campfire Audio has mastered the art of the perfect fit. Despite the uniquely shaped housings of several CFA UIEMs, they are incredibly ergonomic and comfortable. Many users report a fit so comfortable that they practically mold to their ear. But if universal IEMs just aren't your thing, Campfire Audio has custom options for you, too. While the company's custom collection isn't as robust as its universal one, the full Chromatic series (Bonneville, Supermoon, Ponderosa, Cascara) is available in custom-fit. Reach out to us or Campfire Audio directly for more information on custom-fit IEMs.

Proudly Made in the USA

Daring designs are one thing, but the company's legacy as a Made in the USA organization is another. Every Campfire Audio IEM is made and hand assembled in their Portland, Oregon workshop–something that can't be said for every IEM manufacturer on the scene. It's "a labor of love," says Campfire Audio, which takes great pride in the art of craftsmanship. Today, the company remains a tight-knit team, where x's are marked, boxes are checked, and quality is ensured every step of the way.

Silver Dragon IEM Cables Explained

Bronze Dragon IEM Cables Explained

Generally, stock audio cables are manufactured with subpar materials, metals with impurities, poor geometries, and an overabundance of layers to make them look and feel like a fire hose. Inconsistency and lack of quality control in stock cables can lead to poor sound quality and a veiled sound vs. what the musician intended for you to hear and feel from the music. Dragon Audio Cables are handcrafted with the highest standards and made to order according to your specific needs. At Moon Audio, we create a custom cable for you using the highest quality UP-OCC silver or copper conductors that can be manufactured. UP-OCC metals are void of impurities and are optimized for signal transfer and sound quality. We have one of the largest collections of audio and headphone connection options available online and we create limitless audio cable options depending on your specific gear and needs.

Why Dragon Cables?
You’ve heard the saying that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, right? Well, the same applies to your brand new audiophile-grade headphone or other audio components. The weakest link, in this case, is your stock audio cable or the cheap interconnects the manufacturer threw in the box just to get you up and running. Why is the audio cable always an afterthought, when it’s just as important as the rest of your system? At Moon Audio, we use the purest and best raw materials in our cables to unveil your music. We believe that materials matter and your audio cables should have the same care and craftsmanship that manufacturers put into their audio components and headphones. Audio cables are ultimately the connection to your music. The fact remains that cabling is often considered the last priority to that of the main product and a means to cut down the overall production costs. It’s as simple as that. Dragon Cables elevate every note - as if you were hearing your favorite music for the very time.
