What is TPCD?
Thin-Ply Carbon (TPC) is not ordinary carbon fiber. Design
HEDD kept the D1's physical design simple — an understated, studio-headphone look that favors lightweight practicality over the flashier, more ornate builds common in high-end headphones. At 350 grams, the D1 is comfortable to wear for hours while working before your ears tell you it's time for a break. That lightweight feel is largely due to the diaphragm's low mass and compact driver architecture that keep the driver light and responsive. Fewer materials inside means less weight on your head without having to cut corners elsewhere.
The fit is incredibly comfortable. The clamping force sits right in the middle — stable without being fatiguing — and both the headband and ear pads are generously padded and wrapped in velour. Your instinct might be that velour runs hot and feels restrictive compared to alternative fabrics, but that instinct's wrong here. The ear pads are breathable and stay comfortable during long sessions instead of turning into a hot, airless enclosure.
As for the headband extension system, it uses a notch-style slider that allows for micro-adjustments so you can dial in the perfect fit. And in the box, HEDD didn't cut corners, including a hardshell carrying case, a dual 3.5mm mono connector cable with a 1/4" adapter, a mini velvet bag, and an ear pad dust remover. Sound

There's no sharpening the top-end to sound exciting or beefing up the bass for impact. It operates as a reference monitor that presents you with the most transparent, accurate reproduction. The D1 can realistically suit anyone chasing sonic perfection, but it calls out to discerning audiophiles.
