Black Dragon IEM V1 Adapter Cable
The Black Dragon IEM Adapter Cable is an extension or adapter cable to go with your main Black Dragon IEM Headphone cable if extra length is needed or you need to change terminations on the amplifier end. Adapter cables make it more versatile to do quick changes from one connection type to another. More and more connection types are becoming available, thus making this a great solution for hifi enthusiasts or "on the go" portable listening.

Quality You Can Trust
Most stock headphone cables are made of poor, ultra-thin conductors that work as a bottleneck for sound. Poor geometries, no shielding, rubber jackets, and a whole host of other issues in OEM cables can limit the performance of the headphone driver in terms of clarity and definition.
Dragon Cables are handcrafted from quality materials in Moon Audio's headquarters in Cary, North Carolina. All of our cables are created with ultra-pure, single-crystal silver and copper strands and engineered to provide the cleanest, most musical presentation. Our wire is void of impurities and crystalline boundaries, leaving nothing between you and your music.
Black Dragon Sound Signature
The Black Dragon is our top-of-the-line flagship cable designed to increase musicality and provide a warmer tonality with amazing bass performance. Copper strands increase the boldness by providing more slam and attack. It smooths out and provides a more romantic sound signature. A great way to get lost in the music.
The Black Dragon pairs well with all genres, especially Classical, Blues, Rock & Roll, R&B, and anything with a toe-tapping beat like EDM and Dance music. That being said, the Black Dragon can be paired with many other genres as well. If you love to get lost in the music and want to feel like you are at the performance, then this is the cable for you. Cable Design
The Black Dragon IEM is a coaxial design using a 7N purity 99.99998% UP-OCC Stranded copper 26AWG center conductor for the positive leg. The center conductor uses the same Kevlar reinforcing as the other Dragon cables. The center conductor is wrapped concentrically by a 99.99998% UP-OCC pure copper stranded 26AWG gauge conductor with 7N purity 99.99998%.
The left and right signal cables run parallel to each other, resulting in a very low inductance. Both signal jackets are polyethylene, and the cable is extremely flexible yet very resilient and resistant to flex failure.
A variety of connection options are available for your downstream connection, such as the mini plug, RSA/ALO, 1/4", XLR, and many others.
We custom-build these in-house to your connection specification. The cable can be used in either a single-ended or balanced design. The wire is soldered to a connector using high-quality Cardas silver solder.
What is UP-OCC?
UP-OCC stands for Ultra Pure Ohno Continuous Casting (OCC). This is not a material but a way of extruding silver and copper to prevent any impurities and fractures in the crystalline structure of the wire. The wire is drawn very slowly to cast as an almost perfect single-crystal small-diameter conductor. The resulting purity and the size of the cast wire make a tremendous difference, and there is less damage to the near-perfect cast state. We find this UP-OCC process produces a very clean and close to neutral sound in our copper-based and silver-based cables.

I received the Black Dragon balanced adapter for my Pono Player. This adapter is an addition to the Black Dragon modular cable system that I have owned for some time. Shipping was prompt and the adapter works just fine. My only negative comment is that the wire used for the modular cable and the adapters are rather stiff. I would prefer a more flexible and supple cable. The concept of a modular cable system is a great idea and well implemented by Moon-Audio
