This is our Silver Dragon adapter cable to compliment and extend your main Silver Dragon Headphone cable V3. Adapter cables make it more versatile to do quick changes from one connection type to another. This is a great option if you need extra length or to change amplifier terminations. More and more connection types are becoming prevalent, which makes adapter cables a great solution for switching your headphone listening from home to portable use.

Most stock cables are made of poor, ultra-thin conductors with poor geometries, rubber jackets, and other issues that can limit the performance of your equipment.

Silver strands clarify instrument separation, increase soundstage, and find previously lost high and mid-frequency sounds. Transients appear more cohesive and the bass tighter for a more controlled sound. Like the Silver Dragon Headphone cable we uses the same 4 x 24AWG Teflon insulated stranded conductors using pure single crystallized UP-OCC pure Silver with 7N purity 99.99998% as the main cable. Each conductor is made up of a special varying size stranding geometry. The silver stranding is mixed with Kevlar stranding to reinforce the conductor. Making it stronger overall and less prone to failure due to the harsh constant flexing a headphone cable receives. The conductors are then surrounded by cotton and then a layer of Teflon tape.
The new version is now also shielded and placed in a polyethylene jacket for further protection. The Version 3 is quieter than the Version 2 with no microphonics.
It is a balanced cable geometry that can be terminated for either single-ended or balanced configurations. Please note that a single-ended signal connection cannot be converted to balanced connection as the grounds are tied together. Only pick this configuration if your amp has no balanced connection outputs.
The pictured headphones are Ultrasone Edition 8 that we have hacked with a 5ft Silver Dragon V3 Headphone cable that utilizes a Switchcraft Mini 4 pin Male XLR. This connection point allows for adapters to be attached to provide either a balanced termination or a single-ended termination.
The picture also includes a 6″ Silver Dragon adapter with the Balanced plug used for a RSA SR71b or ALO Rx MK3-b. The Ray Samuels RSA SR71B or the ALO Rx Mk3-b are both portable balanced headphone amps. The second 6″ Silver Dragon Adapter Cable has a mini 1/8″ plug for single ended portable amplifiers or direct connection to a portable media player like the iPod.
The 3rd cable in the picture is not an adapter but a Silver Dragon LOD to mini cable. This cable provides a true line out signal from an Apple iDevice such as the iPhone 4s and before and the iPad, etc. Look for a new version of this for the iPhone 5 since Apple is now incorporating a new plug style called the Lightning connector.
