The Focal Family of Loudspeakers
For more than 40 years, Focal has been designing and manufacturing home audio loudspeakers, car speaker drivers and amplifiers, and monitoring loudspeakers for recording studios. The French company designs and produces some of the world's finest loudspeakers. Innovative technologies, unique materials, and an in-house production process combine to make Focal unique. In fact, Focal is one of the few speaker companies to also manufacture its own drivers.
Focal continues to find new ways to innovate its loudspeakers, whether it be with new technology or breathtaking designs. Moon Audio sells loudspeakers from five Focal lines: Chora, Kanta, Sopra, Shape and Vestia. Focal Chora
Focal designed the entry-level Chora line with a goal of making high fidelity sound accessible to as many people as possible. The Chora line is first and foremost a home theater line, but these speakers work equally well in a two-channel setup. Chora speakers are known for silky treble; powerful yet controlled and perfectly articulated bass; and a balanced and precise midrange.The flagship of this line line is the Chora 826 bass-reflex floorstanding loudspeaker with a big, full, and generous sound. Its sleek, modern design combined with a choice of finishes and a tilted stand for a better sound image make Chora 826 ideal for large rooms. Another standout in the Chora line is the 826D four-way floorstanding loudspeaker, with a driver on the top that reproduces Dolby Atmos® effects for ultra-realistic 3D soundtracks and total immersion in the films you watch. Positioned on the top of the loudspeaker, this full-range speaker driver directs the sound toward the ceiling to reflect it back to the listener.

Focal Kanta
The Kanta and Supra lines were originally designed for two-channel listening, and then Focal added a center channel and a subwoofer. They're not as ergonomically designed for home theater, but you can certainly use them there. The buyer who goes for the Kanta or Sopra doesn't care so much about ergonomics, however; they just want the best of the best. The reference piece in the Kanta lineup is the Kanta No3 three-way floorstanding loudspeaker, which superbly combines depth, impact, and articulation of the bass register. The definition and neutrality of the midrange are incredible. The tweeter reproduces the tiniest details with clinical precision. The result? A precise, detailed sound, brimming with warmth and musicality. Comparing the Kanta No1, No2, and No3, you'll get lots of detail in both the No2 and No3, but the No3 has more bottom-end weight (at a small loss of midrange transparency). With the No1, you'll get a slightly sacrificed midrange because the driver is handling both the midrange and bass. You may want to add a subwoofer. Note: The Kanta has a warmer sound than the Sopra.

Focal Sopra
For the money, the Sopra is without a doubt the best price/performance product. The Sopra line can be thought of as a lower-priced version of the Utopia lineup of loudspeakers. Unlike the larger-than-life Utopia, however, Sopra aims for compactness to ensure easy integration into reasonably sized rooms. Sopras deliver a sound that is "fleshy" with a full and articulated bass, overall coherence, and harmonic richness. The flagship of this line is the Sopra No3 three-way loudspeaker, which perfectly combines dynamics, space optimization, and harmonic richness. The two woofers offer solid, rich and perfectly defined bass for music lovers looking for optimum performance. Despite its reasonable size, it will reveal its full potential in larger rooms. Comparing the Sopra No1, No2, and No3, you'll get lots of detail in both the No2 and No3, but the No3 has more bottom-end weight (at a small loss of midrange transparency). Focal Shape
Designed to meet the needs of nearfield monitoring, the versatile Shape speakers are great for professional or home use, with remarkable acoustic transparency. Shape monitors combine an ingenuous design and numerous settings optimized for the acoustics of small listening rooms. They use passive radiators on the sides, which give incredible bass response in a small package. The lower mid-range and mid-range benefit from extreme neutrality, and without any masking effects, making equalization of these essential registers much easier. Finally, the tweeter efficiently reveals any hissing, and it’s also very precise in the very high end. Shape 65 is the reference in this line. Although it’s dedicated to nearfield monitoring, this monitor enables extraordinary monitoring quality, in the lowest to the highest frequencies. This monitor will express its full potential from a listening distance of 3 feet away (1 meter). They are powered, so you don't need to spend extra on an amp. You just need a pre amp or a source with a volume control.

Focal Vestia
Focal designed the Vestia line with the goal of evoking emotion, whether in a stereo or home cinema setup. Its name inspired by the goddesses of hearth and home Vesta and Hestia — delivers Focal's signature sound and presents five new products made in France. The Vestia loudspeakers are equipped with Slatefiber cone speaker drivers and the 'M' shaped inverted dome TAM tweeter. The TAM Tweeter is a new and welcome addition to Focal loudspeakers. Originally developed for Focal's car audio collection, the company revamped the tweeter to be used in their home loudspeakers for stereo and home cinema use. The aluminum magnesium material for the tweeter tends to have a warmer tonality which is especially great for home theater use as the recordings for movies tend to be a bit hot and are smoothed out by the tweeter.
Each product of the Vestia line comes in three finish options: Black High Gloss, Light Wood, Dark Wood. The Vestia bookshelf and center loudspeaker feature tilted stands that Focal says enables a soundstage that is focused on the listener for even deeper immersion. Every Vestia loudspeaker includes a magnetic grille. The Vestia line also features a port toward the front for more frontal impact and a rear port for encompassing bass, which Focal says promotes a deeper soundstage.
