New Bathys Headphone Update Available Now!
The Bathys is one of our most popular wireless headphones here at Moon Audio. It looks good, sounds good, and has noise-canceling to boot. We were excited to learn that Focal just released a new firmware update to the headphones bringing some quality-of-life improvements to the versatile cans. They've also brought some updates to the Focal & Naim app, giving you more control than ever over your headphones. Check out the list of updates and improvements below!
About Focal
For more than 40 years, Focal has been designing and manufacturing high-end home audio loudspeakers, car audio speaker drivers and amplifiers, monitoring loudspeakers for recording studios. Armed with all of that knowledge, Focal then set out to develop headphones from the perspective of creating a miniature ported speaker for the head. In late 1979, a young engineer and tech journalist named Jacques Mahul began producing speaker drivers at his father's precision mechanics company in Saint-Etienne, France. Soon, Mahul founded both Focal and JMlab. Focal commercialized speaker drivers for loudspeaker manufacturers, while JMlab specialized in high-fidelity loudspeakers. In 2003, Focal and JMlab were incorporated under the name Focal-JMlab for home products, before being rebranded as just Focal in 2005 for all product sectors.
Bathys Firmware Update 1.5.2 [NEW]
Focal just issued a minor patch release - version 1.5.2 - of the firmware for the Bathys headphone. The update is easily installed cia the Focal & Naim app. Please ensure you are running at least version 6.1.0 on either iOS or Android.
Fixed:
- Volume controls could stop functioning with specific devices.
- Audio codec could occasonally be reported incorectly.
APP UPDATE 6.1.1 [NEW]
Focal is pleased to announce that a minor patch update for the Focal & Naim app - version 6.1.1 for both iOS and Android devices - is now available from the Apple app store and Google Play store.

Bathys Firmware Update 1.5.1
To update your firmware, open the Focal & Naim app and make sure your Bathys headphones are connected. The app will prompt you to update your firmware automatically.
New features and Improvements:
- Sidetone: In Bluetooth mode, it allows you to hear your voice when you are calling (you can turn it on or off on the Focal & Naim App).
- New EQ Dynamic preset: This new EQ preset is close to the reference 'Harman target' which is considered the optimal sound signature that most people prefer in their headphones. Compared to the original sound signature, this EQ has slightly more bass, more mid and high-mid.
- The customizable EQ can be changed without streaming music to Bathys.
- LED on/off state set by Bluetooth now applies to DAC mode and Jack input mode.
- You can now name your Bathys headphones from device Bluetooth settings – supported on iOS and Android (must be running OS 11 or above).
- Device discovery and pairing.
- Local voice assistants.
- Bluetooth connection.
- Jack detection.
- Clear Voice Capture for better intelligibility in calls.
- Connection/Disconnection tone will not be played for a secondary device while the primary connected device is playing.
App Update 6.1.0
There is also a patch update available for the Focal & Naim App - version 6.1.0 for iOS and Android devices. Available from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store respectively. Simply head to your app updates or to your app store to initiate the update.
