Headphone Replacement Cables
There are 2 versions of all the Headphone cables below. Those that can be connected to your Headphones directly with no modification such as the Sennheiser HD650, Sony Qualia or AKG min xlr type. Basically any cable that have a connection system. Please contact us for other connection headphone types. The second version is for cables that are hard wired. We can hard wire any of the cables below for the price of the cable listed below plus $40. This $40 cost is for most common Headphones. There are some that need additional modification please contact us for pricing. Visit our Headphone Modification page for some examples.
Silver Dragon Sennheiser Headphone Cable Version 2 (New)
This is the new Version 2 Silver Dragon Headphone cable for Sennheiser HD-650, HD-600 and HD-580 headphones and any other Sennheiser headphones that have the 2 pin connection system. We also use it for the Sony Qualia, AKG Pro Series and any other headphone that uses a connector attachment System. This cable can also be hard wired to Grado's, AKG, Audio Technica etc etc...
The cable uses a 4 99.99% pure silver 24AWG Teflon insulated stranded conductors.
Each conductor is made up of a special varying size stranding geometry. The silver stranding is mixed with Kevlar stranding to reinforce the conductor. Making it stronger overall and less prone to failure due to the harsh constant flexing a headphone cable receives.
The conductors are then surrounded by cotton and then a layer of Teflon tape.
The new version is now also shielded and placed in a polyethylene jacket for further protection.
The Version 2 is quieter than the Version 1 with no micro phonics.
The pin connectors are soldered to the conductors and then molded to the cable. The splicing method used by other cable companies using a stock Sennheiser cable's connectors is a poor method. And defeats the purpose of replacing the cable. That method requires you to once more send the signal through the poor quality conductors in the stock Sennheiser cable as well as through one more solder joint. Moon Audio, Cardas and Zu are the only three cable companies I am aware of that use a preferred method of headphone connection method
The version 2 is more flexible than Version 1 and can be easily coiled up.
The wire is soldered to the connector of your choice with Cardas silver solder. The default 1/4" Plug is the Furutech FP-704(G). The default 1/8" plug is a Neutrik NYS231B. And the default XLR is the Black Neutrik NC3. The wire is then covered in 1 layers of Techflex braid.
The detail and speed of this cable is truly amazing in the midrange and high frequencies. It will shock you how much of a difference it will make over the stock cable. And will remove the veil all Sennheiser headphones seem to have.
If you listen to Jazz, Blues, Classical, Acoustical or any very detail orientated styles of music, then this is the cable for you.

Blue Dragon Sennheiser Headphone Cable Version 3 (New!!) Version 2 Sold Out
This is the new Blue Dragon Headphone Version 3 headphone replacement cable for Sennheiser HD-650, HD-600 and HD-580 headphones and any other Sennheiser headphones that have the 2 pin connection system. We also use it for the Ultrasone, Sony Qualia, AKG Pro Series and any other headphone that uses a connector attachment System. This cable been designed to match the Silver Dragon Headphone cable but with a copper conductor. It has the same geometry structure as the Silver Dragon Version 2 only it uses UP-OCC pure copper.

Black Dragon Headphone Cable
This is the Black Dragon Headphone Version 1 headphone replacement cable is our premiere hard wiring cable. This cable can hard wired to just about any headphone such as Grado's, AKG, Audio Technica etc etc...It is a wonderful match for the Grado GS-1000 and AKG k701. The Sennheiser version is also available again. As well we can create a version for your AKG Studio line with the Mini XLR from switchcraft
The cable uses a 4 99.999% pure Copper Litz 21.5 AWG Teflon insulated stranded conductors.
Each conductor is made up of a special varying size stranding geometry.
The conductors are braided into a special Geometry.
This Cable is unshielded. A shield is not necessary based on the geometry we have developed..

Portable Cable Types:
What is the difference between a Moon Audio Portable Interconnect and a Moon Audio Portable Mini Cable. Basically it is half the wire. The Portable Interconnect is a pair of interconnects that is joined together at one end with a Mini. It is a higher quality sounding cable where flexibility is not a huge issue and more commonly used in a home based Headphone System with either a portable media player or computer. The Portable Mini Cable is more for on the go where flexibility and less bulk is a must, such as with an IPod and a Portable amp.
Silver Dragon Portable Interconnect Version 2 (New)
This is the new Version 2 Silver Dragon portable player cable and is based on the Silver Dragon Headphone Cable Geometry. It can be used to connect portable cd players, IPods etc. to your Headphone Amps or any audio system without any loss of quality to your signal. It has been designed on a cost no object basis. The finest materials were located and used. It starts with, in our opinion, one of the best connectors made, the Cardas GRMO. This male RCA connector is made of non-magnetic, eutectic Brass, Rhodium over Silver plate, with a gold plated Brass cover. We use either the Switchcraft Gold plated 3.5mm connector or the Canare silver/nickel plated 3.5mm connector. We use 2 discreet runs of Silver Dragon cable vs. 1 run with the Mini Cable.
