The X-SPDIF 3 is the latest in digital interfacing from Matrix Audio. It allows you to connect any digital audio signal from a source and connect it to your existing system - transferring every bit, in its highest quality. Like the last generation of digital interface, the X-SPDIF lineup from Matrix Audio is made with the highest quality, making sure that not only are you able to easily connect to your audio system, but that you are also getting the cleanest sound possible from your high-resolution music.
The X-SPDIF 3 is perfect for those wanting to utilize the USB connection from your source, and the box has plenty of outputs for various compatibility. It's a small device with huge gains for anyone looking to integrate a digital interface.
Dragon Cable Recommendation: Our top cable recommendations to pair with the X-SPDIF 3 are the Black Dragon USB Cable, the Black Dragon Digital Coax Cable, and the Black Dragon AES Digital Cable. The Black Dragon USB Cable is our copper-based USB cable which offer the best performance and resolution for the digital audio transmission. The Black Dragon Digital cable is second in the hierarchy of Moon Audio digital cables. It is very smooth and does not have an overly warm signature. It is natural-sounding with great dynamics and detail. The Black Dragon AES Digital Cable is recommended for all your high-end balanced audio digital applications.
Digital High Fidelity with the X-SPDIF 3
The X-SPDIF 3 is the latest digital audio interface in the Matrix Audio product lineup. The interface allows you to integrate high-quality USB audio into your audio system, to any peripheral audio device connected. It also allows you to transmit in USB asynchronous mode, and transfer digital audio data. You can use USB input to the following I/O: Optical, Coaxial, AES, and IIS-LVDS output interface conversion. Compared to the previous generation of the X-SPDIF, the IIS-LVDS is new to the 3, which completely isolates the digital output from the ground wire of the USB end, and takes out the noise from the USB front end. The X-SPDIF 3 supports put to 32bit/768kHz PCM signal and 1bit/DSD512 signal output, resulting in great performance and output quality from both PC and mobile devices.
Dual Femtosecond Clocks
The X-SPDIF 3 has 2 femtosecond clocks from Accusilicon as the reference clock source to accurately restore the sound of the original music. The FPGA of the X-SPDIF automatically performs frequency division and switching control and is powered by an independent ultra-low-noise LDO. The clean power supply allows you to enjoy the music without worries.
IIS-LVDS - What is it?
The X-SPDIF 3 can be configured to 4 different kinds of IIS-LVDS interface definitions by toggling the switch on the bottom of the unit, to match various back-end devices. This enables the X-SPDIF 3 to have a wider range of applications and functionality.
Dual Clock Mode
The X-SPDIF 3 can be configured to 2 different clock output modes to match different back-end devices. You can change this setting on the back of the unit.
Easy Audio Code Conversion
The X-SPDIF 3 is equipped with a DoP conversion function, which converts the DSD DoP codes to Native DSD. The X-SPDIF 3 then outputs through the IIS-LVDS port directly. The X-SPDIF 3 is able to easily achieve the DSD conversion and provides a new solution for DACs that only support Native DSD capabilities.
External Power Supply - for Reliable Power
The X-SPDIF 3 is able to be powered off the USB bus or an external power supply. The power of the device is denoted by a dedicated LED. When connecting to a device with insufficient power, like a smartphone or tablet, you can add an external power supply to drive the X-SPDIF with sufficient and stable power. When connecting the external power supply, the USB bus power will be cut off to prevent any additional noise from entering into the signal.
CNC Aluminum Chassis
Like other Matrix Audio products, the X-SPDIF 3 is designed with an aluminum chassis to achieve better electromagnetic shielding performance, reducing the effects of mechanical vibrations and electromagnetic interference. The chassis is carefully milled and designed with precision, matching the aesthetics of other high-end Matrix Audio products. The X-SPDIF 3’s design helps to isolate the interference from peripheral devices, allowing you to have a noise-free listening experience each and every time.
