The Bronze Dragon Power Cable is a culmination of 20 years of Moon Audio's desire to exceed the price-performance ratio, and a testament to our never-ending goal to continually produce HiFi Audio Cables that over-deliver on performance in the marketplace. Pushing the boundaries of audio cable performance, the Bronze Dragon Power Cable uses a new process of adding Graphene to our UP-OCC copper strandings. Graphene is a single-atom-thick, 2-dimensional material composed of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice geometry. This unique material is 200 times stronger than steel but incredibly flexible without added weight, providing a more efficient transmission of electrical signals. It adds strength, flexibility, and conductivity to the metal it is bound with.
The base of the Bronze Dragon Power Cable is composed of OCC copper–single-crystal continuous cast copper, or Ohno Continuous Cast. OCC is a manufacturing process that prevents any crystalline fractures or minimal grain boundaries, which essentially become potholes that the electrical signal must bypass. The copper used in the Bronze Dragon Power Cable is devoid of all possible impurities that can change the coloration of the sound. Knowing that all materials have different coloration and the key to keeping the tonality consistent or slightly changing the coloration is to omit other metals or add other metals to the conductor stand, Graphene was the perfect choice. This not only improved the UP-OCC material but also changed the tonality of our Dragon UP-OCC conductor, delivering increased dynamics with a very musical flavor to the sound.
After much R&D, we've successfully melded two tonalities into one cable, crafting a power cable with improved dynamics and maintained musicality–a hard feat to achieve. The Bronze Dragon Power Cable utilizes 3 x 12 AWG Graphene-UPOCC copper conductors. Like the Bronze Dragon Speaker cable, we are using a 5-layer conductor geometry. This is known as a Concentric Stranding. A True Concentric wire is characterized by a central wire surrounded by one or more layers of helically laid wires in a geometric pattern, with alternately reversed lay direction and increasing lay length. Each layer is a different strand size, and each layer's twist rotation is the opposite of the layer below. The wire’s shape, along with the Graphene, helps improve conductivity. At Moon Audio, we are always trying to improve conductor conductivity, which helps provide the purest signal transmission. Each conductor utilizes a dual-layer insulation to help maintain flexibility. The conductors are then wrapped in Cotton and Mylar to keep a consistent geometry. The outer jacket utilizes PVC, providing good flexibility, and a double layer shielding–the first comprised of an Aluminum Mylar Foil, followed by a second shield composed of 100% pure copper braided shielding–is used to ward off outside interference and reduce negative interactions with other cables nearby. Bronze Dragon Sound Signature
The Bronze Dragon is dynamic, detailed, and musical. It leans on the warm side of neutral, but is anything but dry-sounding. The Bronze Dragon makes a bold statement with a clear presentation and authority.
The smooth, musical quality of the Bronze Dragon makes it a perfect fit for headphones that tend to sound a bit edgy or bright. Despite its warmth, the Bronze Dragon does not have a laid-back, lush sound, and is much closer to neutral, making it a very natural-sounding cable. As a flexible-sounding cable, it can match the sonic characteristics of your sound system.

What is UP-OCC?
UP-OCC stands for Ultra-Pure Ohno Continuous Casting (OCC). This is not a material, but a way of extruding silver and copper to prevent any impurities and fractures in the crystalline structure of the wire. The wire is drawn very slowly to cast as an almost perfect single crystal small-diameter conductor. The resulting purity and the size of the cast wire make a tremendous difference and there is less damage to the near-perfect cast state. We find this UP-OCC process produces a very clean and close to neutral sound in our copper-based and silver-based cables.
