This is a special version of the Black Dragon 75 Ohm Mini Coax Digital Cable for the Chord Mojo 2 and the Hugo 2 to Hugo M Scaler. This cable is extremely flexible, which makes it a perfect match for portable audio digital transmission applications like the Hugo 2. It utilizes a 3.5mm male mini plug configured for Dual Data output transmission to the Hugo M Scaler.

Cable Design
The Hugo M Scaler will allow you to upscale standard 44.1kHz digital audio up to 705.6kHz (16x CD’s 44.1kHz native resolution), ready to be passed to a suitable DAC; Hugo M Scaler extends its upscaling performance to 768kHz (from 96kHz input data) for our dual-BNC-input DACs: DAVE, Qutest, and the new Hugo TT 2. The Black Dragon is the best way to integrate these products.

The Black Dragon uses a miniature 75-ohm cable geometry based on RG179 specifications. It uses a silver-plated copper 7-strand conductor and a 100% coverage silver-plated copper shield. Both are 99.99% silver over 99.999% oxygen-free slow-drawn copper. The wire is soldered to the connectors with Cardas silver solder, and it is then covered in 1 layer of Techflex braid to protect the geometry integrity of the cable. We do recommend a 40-hour break-in time for the cable to truly realize the optimum sound.

This cable works very well to connect a Chord Hugo 2 to a Chord M-Scaler. The improved sound quality when using the maximum up sampling rate of 705.6/768 kHz is outstanding!

Returned defective cable. They deducted $10 from credit refund. Cost me $10 to buy a defective cable. I was ripped off.

My music library consists of 16fs (705.6/768kHz) PGGB software remastered music files delivered through an Audiowise SRC-DX that allows direct USB-to-DAC interface, which means the DAC's USB receiver chip is turned off, resulting in less internally generated RF noise. Being a fan of Dragon Cables, this was an easy choice to make when considering a cable to connect to a Chord Mojo 2 DAC. The TRS termination on the cable allows me to use the Mojo 2 coax input. The result is increased transparency. The Mojo 2 together with the remastered files results in an outcome that very closely approximates my Chord DAVE DAC. The output stage on the DAVE is still a bit better though. Besides providing a perfect cabling solution for my application, the Black Dragon totally enhances the SQ.
