Outboard Power Supply Design Engineered for Pure Performance
Every detail of the design is dedicated to delivering uncompromising sound quality. The outboard power supply adopts a dual-chassis architecture, physically separating the amplification circuit from the power stage. This ensures clean, low-noise energy delivery, free from interference, for a darker background and greater musical clarity.
A multi-stage tube-regulated power supply feeds each amplification stage independently, minimizing ripple, eliminating crosstalk, and enhancing both voltage and current amplification performance. The result is a dynamic, effortless sound that stays true to the original recording.
The dual-box chassis combines high-rigidity construction with advanced damping, isolating vibrations and unwanted noise while enhancing heat dissipation. The result is a cleaner, more refined sound with stable performance and flexible placement options.

The Cayin HA-6A MK2 is a meticulously engineered single-ended Class A headphone amplifier powered by KT88 output tubes. The driver tubes amplify signal voltage under highly linear conditions, while the KT88 tubes deliver complete, undivided output for maximum musical integrity. Cayin engineers carefully designed the gain circuitry, independently adjusting the operation current of each vacuum tube stage and pairing it with a pure, stable power supply. This ensures the HA-6A MK2 fully expresses the rich tonality and musical depth that single-ended Class A design is renowned for.

In-house designed output transformers provide three sets of impedance-matched outputs to handle different headphone loading accordingly:
- Low (L): 80 ~ 642
- Mid (M): 650 ~ 2500
- High (H): 2512 ~ 6000
Matching headphone impedance should produce a natural sound with well-defined bass reproduction.
Planar Headphones are more sensitive to impedance matching than dynamic headphones. Users can try out different settings after they are familiar with the sound signature of properly matched output.
A higher impedance setting will deliver higher output power because we are driving a harder load. It is completely different from gain control of a solid-state amplifier.

The 4-pin XLR output is a full-fledged balanced output, but the 4.4mm headphone output is optimized for a wider range of applications, including high-sensitivity portable headphones and IEMs:

The 4.4mm Headphone Out optimization has taken low-impedance high-sensitive headphones and IEMs into consideration. We reduced the output and improved the S/N Ratio, making sure the HA-6A MK2 is relevant to a very wide range of Personal Audio applications.
The lower output of the 4.4mm phone out can also serve as a fallback when the system suffers from unidentified hum and interference.

With over 30 years of expertise in vacuum tube selection, Cayin ensures the HA-6A MK2 is equipped with premium tubes. Each tube undergoes meticulous hand-testing and matching, as well as strict performance evaluation.
In-house Developed Transformers
As one of the most critical components in a vacuum tube amplifier, Cayin has always insisted on developing high-quality transformers in-house. The custom toroidal power transformer uses a high-purity copper winding design, which produces significantly lower magnetic noise compared to standard transformers. Combined with specialized magnetic shielding and encapsulation techniques, plus additional circuit protection, it ensures minimal noise interference and effectively extends product lifespan.
The specially designed wide-bandwidth El output transformer further reduces signal loss and preserves sonic purity, delivering higher fidelity and more natural sound.
