I find I do like the overall sound better with my RS1e, but vastly prefer the G Cush for long term comfort. I wear my headphones most of the day so this may not apply to you. Wearing a few hours a day then the L Pads should be fine for you. Especially after softening them up with some shampoo and rinsing them out or something like that. Fabric softener probably works better but then you get that strong smell following you around everywhere. Overall the best pads IMO for certain Grado models for sound. But for long term comfort then it's G-Cush all the way.

My Grado's are 25+ years old.3rd replacement of foams on this headset. Awesome fit ,comfortable a sonic experience for sure!!!

L pads ok with Grado sr80 phones but original S pads more comfortable and provide smoother sound.
