Master Sound Discrete DAC G2
The Esoteric Master Sound Discrete DAC G2 is a fully in-house designed, FPGA-based, multi-level ΔΣ (delta-sigma) D/A converter built with meticulously selected discrete components. This unique architecture's ultimate goal is to effortlessly reproduce music's true dynamics and power, surpassing the limitations of conventional DAC IC chips. Its large-scale circuit design comprises 16 elements per channel, with all key components configured in complete independence.
In the XE model, the new G2 DAC features a completely redesigned resistor network—the first stage of the analog domain, achieving even purer signal processing. This breathtakingly powerful, dynamic, and musical architecture delivers an uncompromised, pure listening experience.
New Low-Noise Register Network
In a DAC, the resistor network is a critical circuit that converts the digital signal generated by the FPGA into an analog signal through precision resistor elements.
For the new G2 version of the DAC, Esoteric applied development achievements from our flagship network streamer, the Grandioso N1. This approach simplified and optimized the circuit responsible for switching the resistor elements on and off. In addition, capacitors placed in proximity to the resistor network improve current supply stability, enabling the generation of purer analog signals with significantly reduced noise.
Advanced Digital Processing Capabilities
The G2 DAC supports the latest formats, including native DSD 22.5 MHz playback. Independent FPGA-based digital processing algorithms, optimized separately for DSD and PCM formats, enable D/A conversion that maximizes the advantages of each format.
High-Precision MELF Resistors

SFP Port
The Esoteric Network Engine G4 is equipped with a built-in network switch function and has two network interfaces: an Ethernet RJ45 connector and an SFP port.
By connecting the N-05XE to an external network switch using an SFP module and fiber-optic cable, the signal can be isolated from network-borne noise, resulting in unparalleled playback purity. For maximum flexibility, both the RJ45 and SFP ports can be used simultaneously, tailoring the setup to your preferences and requirements.
Music Server Function
The N-05XE is equipped with USB ports (USB-A ×1, USB-C ×1) and can function as a music server / NAS by connecting up to two USB storage devices, such as flash drives or HDD/SSD units.

Chassis Construction that Combines Rigidity and Flexibility for Resonance Control
The N-05XE features a semi-floating top panel that contributes to an open and spacious sound. The bottom chassis incorporates precision laser-cut slits around the power transformer mount for effective resonance control. Unwanted vibrations are efficiently dissipated externally through Esoteric’s patented Pinpoint isolation feet (patent nos. JP 4075477, JP 3778108, and JP 7413773).
Remote Controller with Easy-Operation Buttons on Both Sides
The RC-1339 remote controller features an ergonomically designed aluminum body that fits naturally in the hand, with buttons positioned on both sides of the unit for intuitive and effortless operation from the comfort of the listening position.
