Nelson Pass founded Pass Labs in 1991, out of his home workshop in Northern California. As demand grew, the company relocated to Auburn, where it continues to hand-build some of the industry's most respected solid-state amplifiers, preamplifiers, and integrated amps.

Note: Listeners who use low-sensitivity speakers like large floorstanders or designs that need a lot of power often gravitate towards the X.8 Series. These amps are able to “maintain composure”, for instance, in the case of complex orchestral passages or rock recordings.
