Obravo HAMT-1 MKII Headphones

In stock

The oBravo HAMT-1 MKII features the same advanced driver technologies of it's predecessor, the HAMT-1. The Air Motion Transformer (AMT) Tweeter and the Dynamic Neodymium Drivers create a two-way design that delivers a full stage spectrum of audio..

The wooden back cover is crafted from a special processed Taiwan Acacia wood, improving the bass performance without damaging any of middles and highs. A new headband cover design improves wearing comfort for long listening sessions.

With the HAMT-1, oBravo combines Air Motion Transformer tweeter with Dynamic Neodymium Drivers. Combining these two headphone driver technologies delivers the finest bass performance of any headphone in its class.

The oBravo HAMT-1 is enhanced by a coaxial structure design giving you a unique listening experience. You will get a full spectrum of audio, hearing every nuance and every note.

The deep and fully rotating earpieces are the ideal home for the coaxial structure made of the 40mm AMT tweeter and the 57mm neodymium woofer.

Air Motion Transformer

Air Motion Transformer (AMT) was developed and patented by German physicist Dr. Oskar Heil in the 1960s. The beauty about AMT is its ability to get sound to vibrate faster than a dome or cone can do. The diaphragm does not move back and forth in a simple piston-like motion, but compresses like an accordion. As the space between the folds narrows, the air within is released and then sucked back in as the space expands. These relatively small motions drive more air which is ideal for a high efficiency and faithful transient behavior. With Air Motion Transformation, the oBravo HAMT-1 can do loud and fast.

The folds allow more surface area to fit in the compact space which creates more air movement than conventional drivers. The smaller range motion results in lower sound reproduction distortion as the accordion movements squeeze out air 5 times faster than the speed of the driver structure.

The oBravo HAMT-1 is a low-Z design and is loud enough to deliver a great sound even on feeble portable players.

The oBravo HAMT-1 has a removable wooden cover that allows you to open the headphone and adapt the three bass reflex ports of the woofer to your specific tastes.

The earpads are made of the Alcantara velour material that enhances the sonic tuning process while being amazingly soft and cozy.

With the size of the headphones being larger, the oBravo HAMT-1 surrounds the ear and seals off any unwanted ambient noise.

The oBravo HAMT-1 has a 56 ohms impedance. Though it is a full size headphone, the oBravo HAMT-1 will play even with smartphones like Apple and Android devices.

An additional feature of the HAMT-1 is the included tuning kit. The kit consists of a variety of silicon plugs that vary the venting of the drivers internally so you can custom tune the headphones to your sweet spot.

Super highs, damn good bass
Totally agreed with Alan Sircom, hi-if+, that:

It's like strapping a little pair of Wilson Audio loudspeakers to your ears.
