The Silver Dragon iem headphone cable is the baby brother to the original award winning Silver Dragon headphone cable V3 for full size headphones. We have designed this iem headphone cable for use with Custom In Ear monitors or IEM's where light weight and flexibility are a must.

It is a coaxial design using a 99.99998% UP-OCC Stranded Silver 26AWG center conductor for the positive leg. The center conductor uses the same Kevlar reinforcing as the other Dragon cables. The center conductor is wrapped concentrically by a 99.99998% UP-OCC silver plated single crystallized UP-OCC pure copper stranded 26AWG gauge conductor with 7N purity 99.99998%. The left and right signal cables run parallel to each other resulting in a very low inductance and both signal jackets are polyethylene and the cable is extremely flexible yet very resilient and resistant to flex failure.

A variety of connection options are available for your downstream connection such as the mini plug, RCA, XLR and many others. We custom build these in house to your connection specifications. The cable can be used in either a single ended or a balanced design. The wire is soldered to a connector using high quality Cardas silver solder. No flimsy or stiff cables are made here at Moon Audio so throw out that cheap stock cable and bring your Custom IEM's here to Moon Audio.

If making deep connections with your music is important...products like the Silver Dragon cables can act as a conduit to that grand connection. I'm never giving mine up..." Positive Feedback, Issue 64, Michael Mercer, December 2012

Finally a decent quality IEM cable...Review by T

Just bought a Silver Dragon for my recently acquired 1964 Ears V6S. Must say it's a nice change having a non-braided IEM cable above the split. For me, braided cables invariably begin to unravel above the split, and then it's all downhill from there. Even braided cables not far off the price of the Silver Dragon. I'm hoping the Silver Dragon solves the durability issues I've always found with other IEM cables.

Happy with the quality & value for money of the Silver Dragon, yes, somewhat pricey (particularly if your country's exchange rate automatically makes everything 30% more expensive), but as they say, you get what you pay for and that's certainly the case with the Silver Dragon.

Does it significantly change the sound of the V6S compared to the stock cable ? I honestly can't say (at least not significantly). Maybe a little louder at the same volume (out of a Fiio E12 DIY, which isn't the easiest thing in the world to volume match precisely with its shitty analog volume pot & on/off switch combined) ? But yeah, I can't honestly say it changes the sound significantly, and frankly, I'd be worried if it did. If it does, it's very subtle.

Overall, really happy with the Silver Dragon. (Posted on 6/10/2015)

Got the silver dragon cable installed on my Cypher Labs C6iem's today - really wakes them up, Drew's recommendation was spot on.

The C6 iem is a bit dark and bass heavy with the stock cable. The silver dragon iem headphone cable tilts them upward and gives them some air.

Just what I was looking for... (Posted on 3/12/2015)
Yes - there IS a difference!Review by touch33

Now that I've spent a couple of weeks living with my Silver Dragons, I'm happy to report that overall I'm VERY pleased with them.

1) Couldn't be easier to work with Drew & Crew. All businesses should take notes, as the entire process (pre-sale questions, order, delivery, tracking) was 100% Painless – as it should be.

2) Yes, using "balanced IEM cabling" (somewhat inaccurate terminology - in my biz "balanced" means "3 conductor +4dBm line level differential" signal interconnection. I believe the more correcterish term might be "discrete"?) that separates the L/R grounds from one another ABSOLUTELY makes an audible difference, in both the apparent LF transient response and the apparent L/R channel separation ("imaging").

3) Yes, the Silvers wire does have a sonic effect – smoother upper-mids, slightly extended HF and (again) better LF transient response. Tighter, smoother, snappier – what's not to like?

4) Build Quality overall is quite good. I like the 3.5mm connectors being properly strain-relieved by filling the gap between the heat shrink and cable jacket with some type of solid gookumpucky (glue, epoxy - dunno). Definitely "rock n' roll" spec.

5) Speaking of heat shrink, the only nit I would pick: the heat shrink used for protection/connector ID was perfectly placed on the L ch. 3.5mm – the R ch. was not placed 100% down on the edge of the 3.5mm case. Functionally it matters not. Visually, well – I can be a little OC sometimes (my guys say "VERY OC all of the time") but if I'd been assembling it I'd have done that one over again.

6) This is my first set of IEM cables that aren't equipped with any type of bendable wire support at the IEM plug (just what the hell DO you call those, anyway?). Since I utilize the cables back over my ears (and adjust the "slider" to pull the cables together behind my head) I'm a little concerned with the arrangement and if its putting too much strain on the two teeny tiny IEM pins – but Time Will Tell.

Personal Disclaimer: I am a 59 yr. old "Old Soundman", with 40+ years (gasp!) of live and studio engineering experience. Golden Ears, maybe - extremely well-educated ears for sure. These days I spend a lot of time commissioning large rigs, studio monitor chains and high-end resi systems. My current rig (FutureSonic MG6Pro IEMs, Silver Dragon "balanced" cables and the new Pono Player source) is for sonic reference at work and travel/entertainment, usually while flying.

So There. Your mileage may vary. (Posted on 2/4/2015)
Silver Dragon Balanced Cables and the Pono - OMG!Review by JeffU

I rarely write reviews - I may comment here and there in a forum, but as a rule I just don't usually make it back to a site and leave a review - but I do have to comment about these. I picked up a Pono about two weeks ago and quickly realized I needed to up my headphone game and get something more "audiophile". I could tell the player sounded better, but it wasn't a huge difference with HiRez streaming audio now available.

So first off I got a pair of Fidue A83 IEM's - that was better, still not that 'wow' factor I expected, but better. I knew I wanted to try out balanced mode (heck, until I picked up the Pono I didn't even know that was an option) - so I found Moon and heard good things about the silver dragon's - yep, they're pricey, and if you'd told me a month ago someone would spend that much on a cable I say they had too much money.

Anyhow, ordered on a Sunday night, did two day shipping and they went out on Monday and I had them in my hands yesterday - pretty nice for hand made :)

Swapped out the cable, plugged in to my Pono and changed the setting to balanced mode - OMG, OMG, OMG - where has this been all my life! It's just amazing the sound I'm getting out of these, probably the best upgrade I've made in years. It's like going from a Hifi single speaker from the 60's to full on 7.1 surround.

I think the balanced mode is probably the single most important option on the Pono and I'm soooo glad to have these cables. (Posted on 1/29/2015)

I'm really pleased with the sound, quality or the cable, quality of the workmanship (all parts of the cable including Y-splitter, connectors, etc), and even the smooth texture of the cable.

I have used the twisted pair cables a lot, and while the sound is great, they are a little uncomfortable at times --not to mention that they tangle terribly, really annoying.

The Silver Dragon does not tangle, and feels great around the ears.

I bought the Silver dragon V1 IEM cable with 2.5mm 4pole plug for my Noble audio IEM and InEar SD-2.

I have used other 3rd party cables, but this Silver dragon is the best so far in resolution and stage size. ( I use it with my AK120 II and balanced connection.)

I think the 2.5mm plug quality, especially, the contact quality is only a weak point. I hope Moon audio will add better plug option for 2.5mm plug which other 3rd party cable suppliers use (I do not have any contact issue with them). (Posted on 7/23/2014)

Drew and Nichole - the Silver Dragon V1 cable is a huge upgrade over the stock JH Audio cable on the JH Audio JH16 IEM's with JH3A amp. The difference in clarity and overall dynamics is astounding.

Also, fantastic job on the design of the custom IEM's; the Black and Silver Dragon logos on the faceplates look awesome. Thanks for working with me to get the design just right. It was well worth it.

It's a pleasure doing business with you both. (Posted on 6/9/2014)
Silver Dragon V1 IEM has taken my JH13's to a NEW level!Review by Jim B

I ordered a Silver Dragon IEM cable from Moon Audio for my JH13's. Originally, I ordered it because the JH13's came stock with a silver cable, so I chose the Silver Dragon to be consistent.

I have to say that I am normally not a fan of silver cables. But the Silver Dragon is definitely an exception. It has taken my IEM's to a new level.

After reading Jerry Harvey's comments, I can confirm that I hear what he states as being "a +3db increase in input sensitivity across the entire frequency range."

The most noteworthy improvement to me though is the increased high frequency detail while being less fatiguing. In case you couldn't tell, I highly recommend the Silver Dragon IEM cable. (Posted on 4/16/2014)

I would like to give you an update on my JH16 and Moon Audio Silver Dragon V1 IEM headphone cable.

Moon Audio Silver Dragon IEM cable...I was a little worried, that it will be a little microphonics, because is not as soft as original cable. That's not the case at all... once you route the cable properly behind the ears.
I was listening JH16's from 3 sources. Directly from Macbook Pro and iPod classic, then via Fostex HP-P1 and iPod classic. First time I used original cable and listened few songs multiple over and over again, then I
switched the cables to the Moon Audio Silver Dragon.

Believe or not, switching between the cables makes more difference for me than listen iPod with or without Fostex. I never had that feeling before but that sound somehow reminds me when I was young and first heard Revox G36 reel to reel tube tape recorder.

Now if I compare both cables...
BASS on MA about the same level as OEM, cleaner, faster (on OEM has echo like charakteristic), fuller (sounds more analog then digital) MIDS, TREBLE have higher levels than OEM, much cleaner, faster airy, better depth..instruments are more spaced out, you can tell better what instrument is louder and when plays in louder or softer volume, vocals closer to me, you can hear articulation better, better stereo effect HIGH tones..I can hear now what was muted and much cleaner, it creates more stereo effect, now I can hear reverberation of cymbals.

There was even bigger difference after I switched back from Moon Audio to the original JH Audio stock cable, the sound collapsed with the JH stock cable and it was muddy and the bass which bothered me before was back plus the volume clearly dropped down. I definitely love my Moon Audio Silver Dragon V1 IEM headphone cable. (Posted on 1/9/2014)
Hard to believe a cable can make this big a difference!Review by Jeremy L

I have owned a set of JH Audio 13 Pro CIEMs for around 6 months now. One of my issues with them was that I could not find a good iPhone cable, without sacrificing sound quality. It occurred to me that most cables made for IEMs were, in fact, afterthoughts. I have literally spent hundreds of $$ trying to get the right cable...

JH Audio sells several "vanilla" cables and also a cable with an iPhone remote+Mic module...but the remote cable was a noticeable downgrade in quality, as were several other cables I tried, including ones from Ultimate Ears and a set from China.

Another issue was that after a few cable swaps, it was very obvious that the actual 2-pin connection into the IEM's themselves was not designed for every other month swapping...

On another search for a good cable I came across the link on JH Audio's site to the silver dragon v1 iem headphone cables, and I found the solution in these adapters and the Moon Audio system.

Now I can leave my JH13's permanently cabled and simply switch out the moon audio iem adapter set, based on whether I am connecting to my Centrance HiFi-M8's balanced RSA output, my iPhone or Fiio 17 mini jack, etc.

I didn't realize it at the time of order either, but a recable with the Silver Dragon v1 iem headphone cable was a huge upgrade in sound quality over the stock (non iPhone, good quality) JHA cable. WOW!

If my CEntrance gets me 100 points better sound than a straight iPhone DAC, then the Moon Audio cable setup, even with the Mini XLR inline, gets me 30 to 50 extra points, Punchier bass and much better imaging.

Wow. I would add that I believe you really want a foot of cable or more for the adapter. A half foot puts the weight of the XLR's too close to the terminations, and that's too much too close.

Now, in addition to this, Drew also does custom stuff, so making me up a custom, high quality cable I can attach an iPhone mic control to is also in the cards.

If you spent over $1,000 on your cans or IEMs, you'd be crazy not to get a Moon Audio v1 iem headphone cable right now... For big audio improvement and fantastic flexibility...Seriously.

Well done, Drew

I am using the cable with my Ultrasone IQ and right out of the box I found it to be a big improvement compared to the factory cable which is not bad but by far not as good as the Silver Dragon. The biggest improvement to me is the sound stage and the clear definition the cable brings to my Ultrasone IQ IEMs.
Even though this cable is no bargain, I believe it is worth the price and I will have a lot of "good music" with it. (Posted on 11/25/2013)

Picked up a Peachtree Deepblue Bluetooth speaker in late July 2013 - impressive even in Bluetooth. Connected my iPhone -- Rdio, Pandora, etc. -- with an HRT istreamer that I use in the office. There was some improvement but not what I thought it could produce. So, just before heading out on vacation, I ordered the Moon Audio's Silver Dragon IEM cable. Ran it for 24 hours. With the Silver Dragon, the stage depth, mid-range, and bass and upper frequencies were substantially improved. However, there was some splashy upper frequency detail. Ran the system frequently over a two week period while on vacation and it finally broke in. Now this Peachtree-HRT-Silver Dragon system is not equivalent to my Rowland pre-amp-Rowland mono blocs-Basis-Avalon system but an impressively musical and pleasantly detailed system for a reading or other room. The Silver Dragon V1 IEM headphone cable brings it all together. (Posted on 8/30/2013)

After a lot of research, I ordered the Silver Dragon V1 IEM cable last week for my Westone earphones, and the cable arrived today. Initially, I was surprised by the awesome customer service prior to my order. I just wanted to thank you for the quick turn around time and the absolutely wonderful product. My first experience with the Silver Dragon IEM cable was with pre-recorded music. I immediately noticed an increase in volume compared to my JH16 Pro's IEM cable. I also noticed a clarity that exposed microscopic details in the mix.

My ultimate experience was an actual gig. The Silver Dragon IEM cable and JH16 Pro combo reproduced all of the tonal variations and dynamics in my signature 6-string bass.

For the first time in a live performance, I was able to hear all of the subtle nuances in my playing with 100% clarity and detail. (Posted on 5/14/2013)

Drew, I just wanted to tell you how pleased I am with this cable on my new Freqphase JH Audio 13's. The improvement to the clarity of these new phones was only magnified by this cable.
It did so without altering the tonal balance, and added a sense of refinement to the sound.
They are not floppy flexible like some others but they are perfectly manageable and don't tangle or spring back at you when coiled like other cables I've tried.
Well done. (Posted on 12/5/2012)

The Silver Dragon IEM cable works flawlessly with my JH16 Pro's whether I'm driving them directly from iPod, from my Ray Samuels SR-71B or from iBasso D12 "Anaconda".
It has flawless tonal balance and really opens up the sound of the JH16 Pro's, giving them almost HD800-like soundstage and fluidity.
I couldn't imagine listening without it. The bass sounds fantastic. (Posted on 11/5/2012)
