The previous version used 4 x 99.998% Ultra Pure Silver 24AWG Teflon insulated stranded conductors. Thus we have stepped up the purity to the purist available by today's technology.
We have improved the conductors properties over the previous Version 2 cable as these conductors are free from impurities and have virtually no crystal boundaries. The conductors have almost no distortion compared to ordinary silver conductors.
Each conductor is made up of a special varying sized stranded geometry. The silver stranding's are mixed with Kevlar standing's to reinforce the conductor. Making it stronger overall and less prone to failure due to the harsh constant flexing that headphone cable experience.
Each conductor is encapsulated in a Teflon casing.
The conductors are then surrounded by cotton and a thin layer of Aluminum Foil.
It is then protected by a 100% coverage silver plated copper secondary shield and placed in a polyethylene jacket for further protection.
To improve it's flexibility we are no longer using a Techflex jacketing as we did with our previous versions.
A variety of connection options are available for your downstream connection. Such as the mini plug, RCA, XLR and a whole host of others. We custom build these in house to your connection specification.
The cable can be used in either a single ended or balanced design. The wire is soldered to a connectors using high quality Cardas silver solder.

Cable and Connectors are of the highest quality and they have definitely woken up and improved my LCD 2's where I did not believe there was much room for improvement.
You could easily spend twice as much for an upgrade cable from someone else but you could not in my hearing get a better sounding cable at any price!!
Do your self a favor if you are looking to improve on the basic sound of your Headphones and let Drew make you up the correct type cable for your specific headphone.

After reading several reviews of the Silver Dragon cable, I decided that my HD 650s needed something to add some sparkle. These cables added so much that the phones seem like a much more refined phone than with the original cable. More precise, better definition and cleaner mids in addition to better lows. I have a pair of Sennheiser HD800's, and they sound great with the stock cable, but looking for better sound I have moved to using a couple of high balanced cables (DIY Jenna Labs, and the Silver Dragon Cable). The Silver Dragon Cable is clearly the winner to my ears. When comparing it to the stock cable I hear with much more clarity, and am given an awesome listening experience. Even when I compare it to a quality higher end cable like the Jenalabs 22 AWG cable they still provide what I think to be a superior sound.Quality Price Value
I had had a pair of Sennheiser HD650's for years without upgrading the cable, and unfortunately never did upgrade the cable until I had had the HD800's for some time. That was a mistake in my book, because I have missed out for years of fantastic sound that the Silver Dragon provides. Whether or not you plan to upgrade to a better headphone, consider the cable as a must to get better sound from what you do have; to me the Silver Dragon Cable is king of the hill for a great and affordable cable.
