Portable Interconnect Cable Types:
What is the difference between a Moon Audio Portable Interconnect and a Moon Audio Portable Mini Cable. Basically it is half the wire. The Portable Interconnect is a pair of interconnects that is joined together at one end with a Mini. It is a higher quality sounding cable where flexibility is not a huge issue and more commonly used in a home based Headphone System with either a portable media player or computer. The Portable Mini Cable is more for on the go where flexibility and less bulk is a must, such as with an IPod and a Portable amp.
Silver Dragon Portable Interconnect Version 2 (New)
This is the new Version 2 Silver Dragon portable player cable and is based on the Silver Dragon Headphone Cable Geometry. It can be used to connect portable cd players, IPods etc. to your Headphone Amps or any audio system without any loss of quality to your signal. It has been designed on a cost no object basis. The finest materials were located and used. It starts with, in our opinion, one of the best connectors made, the Cardas GRMO. This male RCA connector is made of non-magnetic, eutectic Brass, Rhodium over Silver plate, with a gold plated Brass cover. We use either the Switchcraft Gold plated 3.5mm connector or the Canare silver/nickel plated 3.5mm connector. We use 2 discreet runs of Silver Dragon cable vs. 1 run with the Mini Cable.
The cable uses a 4 x 99.998% Ultra Pure Silver 24AWG Teflon insulated stranded conductors.
Each conductor is made up of a special varying size stranding geometry. The silver stranding is mixed with Kevlar stranding to reinforce the conductor. Making it stronger overall and less prone to failure due to the harsh constant flexing a headphone cable receives.
The conductors are then surrounded by cotton and then a layer of Teflon tape.
The new version is now also shielded and placed in a polyethylene jacket for further protection.
The Version 2 is quieter than the Version 1.
The version 2 is more flexible than Version 1 and can be easily coiled up.
The wire is soldered to a Cardas GRMO Rhodium/Silver plated connector with Cardas silver solder. The wire is then covered in 1 layers of Techflex braid.
The detail and speed of this cable is truly amazing in the midrange and high frequencies. It will shock you how much of a difference it will make over the stock cable. And will remove the veil all Sennheiser headphones seem to have.

Blue Dragon Portable Player Interconnect Version 2 (New)
This is the new version 2 Blue Dragon portable player cable. It can be used to connect portable cd players, IPods etc. to your Headphone Amps or to any audio system with out any loss of Quality to your signal. The wire is soldered to the Cardas connector with WBT or Cardas silver solder. The wire is then covered in 2 layers of Techflex braid to protect the geometry integrity of the cable. Portable Mini Cables
Mini Cable Types:
The Portable Mini Cable is more for on the go portable audio systems where flexibility and less bulk is a must, such as with an IPod and a Portable amp. There are 2 types of mini cables. A Mini to (Mini or RCA) or a LOD Mini cable. Ipods have 2 means of outputting the audio signal. One is via the headphone output and the other is via the Dock output connector on the bottom of the unit. The better approach is to use the LOD cable as it bypasses the iPod's internal Amplifier and Gain Stage. Thus providing a true line out signal. Warning!! you must then have a volume control downstream of this cable via a portable amp, Car Audio Head Unit or Home Audio System. The iPods volume control will no longer control the volume by using this cable.
Silver Dragon Version 3 iPod/iPad LOD (Line Out Dock) Cable New!!!!
This is the new Version 3 Silver Dragon LOD cable for linking IPods, iPhones, iTouch and iPads to portable or stationary audio systems.
The cable uses 4 x 99.99998% UP-OCC silver 24AWG Teflon insulated stranded conductors. We have improved the conductors properties over the previous Version 2 cable. These conductors are free from impurities and have virtually no crystal boundaries. The conductors have almost no distortion compared to ordinary silver conductors.
Each conductor is made up of a special varying sized stranded geometry. The silver stranding's are mixed with Kevlar standing's to reinforce the conductor. Making it stronger overall and less prone to failure due to the harsh constant flexing of a portable system.
The conductors are then surrounded by cotton and a thin layer of Teflon tape.
It is protected by a 100% coverage silver plated copper shield and placed in a polyethylene jacket for further protection.

Silver Dragon IEM iPod/iPad LOD (Line Out Dock) Cable New!!!!
This is the new IEM Silver Dragon LOD cable for linking IPods, iPhones, iTouch and iPads to portable audio systems where flexibility and smaller foot prints are required.
IEM, stands for In Ear Monitors. And this cable was designed to compliment our new Silver Dragon IEM replacement headphone cables. For such IEM headphones as the JH Audio 1JH3Pro, or Ultimate Ears UE10Pro, or Shure Audio's new SE425 & SE525 for example. Because IEM headphone portable systems are so much smaller and compact, Moon Audio needed cables that reflect there needs. Thus the new series of IEM cables are being introduced.
The cable uses 2 x 99.99998% UP-OCC silver 26AWG insulated stranded conductors as the central positive leg of the cables. Each central conductor is surrounded by an externally wrapped negative conductor. By using a coaxial design, we where able to create great flexibility and a small footprint. The conductors purity is the same as its Big Brothers. And thus these conductors are free from impurities and have virtually no crystal boundaries as well. The conductors have almost no distortion compared to ordinary silver conductors.
The center conductors are made up of a special varying sized stranded geometry. The silver stranding's are mixed with Kevlar stranding's to reinforce the conductor. Making it stronger overall and less prone to failure due to the harsh constant flexing of a portable system.
The exterior conductor also acts as a shielding mechanism. The cable can be used in either a single ended or balanced design.

Black Dragon Portable Mini Cable
The Black Dragon has been designed to compliment our silver line. We had many requests from our customers who had systems where silver just wasn't an ideal fit. So we set out to make the best possible copper cable per there request. What we ended up with exceeded our wildest dreams. An extremely smooth transparent and not all together to warm cable. For years our hearing tastes have always driven me in the direction of silver. I have never quite gotten in to the sound of copper. Well that has now changed. I tried to build a cable that gave me the great detail and presence of silver but also provided me with the smooth jazzy sound of copper. The Black Dragon does just that. Only your ears can be the judge.
We went back to our old copper version of the Blue Dragon and greatly expanded on it. We took what we learned from the Silver Dragon Speaker cables. Where we developed just the right ratio of different size stranding to optimize the sound. What we ended up with was the same geometry as the Blue Dragon but with an increase size in gauge and switching from solid core copper to a special stranded geometry. The stranding are all 99.9999% high quality low crystalline structure pure copper. We continued to use Teflon coating, as it is an obvious best dielectric. We then cover it in a protective layer of Techflex and solder your connector of choice. For the mini connection option, we continued with the great success of the Neutrik and Switchcraft. But offer several other choices. The end result is amazing....
