This new headphone was shown for the very first time  at the National Head-Fi Convention
in New York City. The response was spectacular! The Grado Statement
GS1000 has been on the drawing board for sometime now, and John Grado
even admits that it is his finest effort to date. This new headphone will incorporate new larger foam cushions that are extremely comfortable.
Larger cushions with wooden cans, yet lightweight to add to the comfort level.
The top to bottom sound is extremely balanced and the soundstage is simply
unbelievable. The sound is very detailed, the bass is deep and the music is
very tight and not fatiguing at all. Simply stunning.

The RS-1 is the Masterpiece of the Grado collection, the Top Of The Range product which oozes class both in looks and sound.

Featuring handcrafted Mahogany earpieces made using an intricate curing process, Grado has been able to optimize the tonal quality. The RS1 uses dynamic transducers in an open-air configuration, the cups being open-backed. The result is a smooth, coherent sound with detailed dynamics. Frequency response ranges from 12-30 kHz and the drivers are matched to 0.05dB. Weighing 9oz, the headphones are an example of the wonder of mother nature with a gorgeous, honey-colored look.

EDITORS' PICK! The chassis on these audiophile classics are handcrafted from cured mahogany, making them both light and dynamic. Amazing sonic detail, marvel at the clarity of your Steely Dan records. And thanks to a fully open design, you can have a conversation without reaching for the volume knob.
- Paul Boutlin, Wired Magazine

From their honey-hued mahogany earpieces to the ultra-pure, oxygen-free copper voice coils, the RS1 headphones ooze old-world craftsmanship. These headphones offer a sound that's warm, smooth and dynamic, revealing otherwise-hidden detail.
- James Willcox, Mercedes Benz Magazine

The RS1's are the only product ever nominated by STEREOPHILE for their "PRODUCT OF THE YEAR" distinction, two years in a row!

"I say that the RS1 is a Masterpiece."
- Ken Kessler, HI-FI NEWS - RECORD REVIEW

Rated Class "A" on STEREOPHILE'S recommended components list.

"It's rare that any audio product can come along and simply bowl me over. In this case, I yield."
-Jack English, STEREOPHILE Vol.19, No.7

"I would urge any serious headphone listener to audition this Grado RS1." -John Borwick, Gramophone

"One of the years awesome high-end audio achievements"
-Ken Kessler, Robb Report

"The RS1 offers something so stunning that price becomes irrelevant"
-Gavin Isaacs, Audio Video

"If you value headphone listening enough to consider buying a reference dynamic, then you should audition the RS1's."
-Wes Philips, STEREOPHILE Vol.19, No.7

"I can honestly say that there is no better sounding headphone than the Grado RS1"
-Corey Greenberg, Home Theater Vol.3, No.5

"I'm very impressed with it" said Wes Phillips, an editor at Stereophile magazine who is evaluating the headset for next month's issue. "John introduces things that monster companies can't produce."
Excerpt / New York Times /
8/18/96 / Mark Cohen

"We've always had bit of a headphone fetish at What Hi-Fi? We're often talking about how they can create your own private universe, plug directly into your favorite piece of music. Now we've heard the Grado RS1s, and our fetish has become an epic, full blown love affair. Ooooh..."

The newest edition to the Grado family, the RS2 is the little brother of the RS1. The characteristics of the RS2 remain the same as it's distinguished big brother, with the hand crafted mahogany, but there is a smaller wooden air chamber. Although a miniature version of the RS1, they still maintain an overall sound that is pure Grado, warm harmonic color, full bodied vocals, excellent dynamics and ultra smooth top end. These truly are audiophiles dream.

Just as oak barrels enhance the flavor of wine, these mahogany drums refine the sound of music. The earpieces on Grado's RS2 headphones are handcrafted from specially cured wood and have a large open-air chamber. The result is a complex bouquet of decreased distortion, accentuated bass response, warm harmonic tones and a super smooth top end. Sweet!
- Seth Feman, Wired Magazine

"...it's the full-bodied sound - especially the luscious, rich resonant bass - that makes the Grado 'phones special"
- Sam Telling - STEREOPHILE Vol. 21, No.2

"If you audition the Grado RS2s, you may find something you never heard before: the calm artistry of well made sound."
- Jim Merod, Jazz-Now - Magazine

The Top of the Range Prestige Headphone.

What does the i stand for in the new SR325i from Grado? Improved, that’s what! Yes, Grado has taken one of the world’s most acclaimed headphones and taken it a few steps further. The new SR325i has an upgraded driver design, and they have enlarged and improved the mass distribution in the metal housing. The way the SR325i’s new driver and metal housing move air and react to sound vibrations are now less affected by transient distortions. With the SR325i you will notice improved control of the upper and lower range of the frequency spectrum with both better supporting Grado’s world renowned midrange. And why the Gold color? The new SR325i is in honor of their 50th anniversary celebrated recently. The SR325i will produce a sound that is pure Grado, warm harmonic color, rich full bodied vocals, excellent dynamics and an ultra smooth top end. Listen and Enjoy!

HI-FI Choice
"I'd encourage anyone who wants to escape the typical, in yer face, cheap can sound to listen to these Grado's."

Winner of Audio Video's "GRAND PRIX AWARD"

"Of all the Grado Prestige headphones I've heard, the SR325 is my favorite!"
Audio magazine / Vol. 82, No. 6 / John Gatski

"The SR325s are easily the flattest, most accurate sounding phones tested, for critical monitoring, the Grado's are hard to beat. Of all the phones tested, the SR325s were the only headphones I felt trustworthy enough for mixing."

Features are the same as the SR125 but, this Headphone has an increased air flow by 50% which is achieved through an improved rear metal screen and closer matched drivers. The result is an enlarged soundstage achieved from closer driver tolerances, while the improved rear screen frees the headphone from colorations.

HI-FI Choice
"Music flows through this headphone organically and believably, with irrepressible dynamics and bounce."

HI-FI Choice Recommended

"Sounding very good at both low and high levels, these headphones are of reference quality both for the classical virtues of neutral frequency response and low coloration, as well as for their clarity and the high degree of listener involvement evoked."
HI-FI News & Record Review / Martin Colloms

"The SR225s sound unlike any other headphone. They have an amazingly solid presentation, packed with weight and presence. There is also a pleasant richness in the midrange that benefits all types of music."
WHAT Hi-Fi

"When it comes to classical music, the Grado's reproduce instruments with both believable timbre and solidity. The treble boosts fine detail and no hint of aggression. ... these Grado's are hard to beat!"

Grado's ability to combine lightness with extreme rigidity and internal damping has been put to good use on the SR125. Based on the same design as the SR80, the SR125 features an improved diaphragm and voice coil design and UHPLC (Ultra-high purity, long crystal) copper voice coil wire. The Diaphragms are put through a special 'de-stressing' process in order to enhance inner detail. An improved headband spring provides even greater comfort allowing the listener to relax and enjoy the fine tonal spread and balance. Bass, midrange and treble are all more open.

Winner of " Critics Choice"
Award presented by SOUND & VISION

"Analytical listening was helped by the well-defined locations of individual instruments and voices. If headphones can be as musically satisfying as this, they must be pretty good."
Gramophone

"Still, in its own realm the Grado SR125 is a real winner and an excellent value. I cannot imagine a better sounding headphone at anywhere near its price."
- Julian Hirsch - Stereo Review Vol.60, No.5

"It was obvious to me that the members were very impressed by the Grado SR125 headphones."
-Edward Long- Audio Magazine Vol.79, No.8

"Nearly every headphone-using colleague I spoke to in the USA keeps either SR60, SR80, or SR125s handy for reviewing."
- Ken Kessler - HiFi News & Record Review

"simultaneously musical and revealing of every nuance recorded"
- Robert J. Reina- Stereophile

Built on the same features as the SR60, but utilizes a 4 conductor connecting cable and larger ear cushions, the result of which gives a more open stage. The SR80 provides an improved bass resonance, which enhances the overall detail. John Grado says he strove for the best sounding phones for the money, and with the glowing reviews the SR80's have received, who can argue.

"...these are truly wonderful headphones, they've got the bass energy... ripping into heavy tracks with a gusto that eludes lesser rivals. With vocals they intoxicate with a natural feel and beautifully proportioned soundstage: few headphones can transport you as convincingly... The Grado SR80's are special. Buy'em, and Love'em."
