The Details:

The ExactPower EP15A has 15 Amps of current throughput capability from 8 (eight) full contact AC outlets.

These outlets are substantially better than mere 'hospital grade' devices which are tested only for their insulating qualities (resistance

to electrical leakage) and not for contact area, conductor quality, or any other aspect that actually pertains to power delivery. The output voltage is

set for the 120Vrms for the US models. The output will not vary beyond the 120Vrms +/-1%, when loaded from 1 amp to 15 amps.

The front panel has a two-line VFD to provide many functions. The output voltage is the default output, the reading can be changed to output current,

output power, or a power indicator. In the event of a fault condition, the type of fault will be indicated. These fault conditions are over voltage,

under-voltage, over-temperature, and over-current. The output voltage, current, and power are measured in true rms, giving you accurate

measurements of the power that is consumed.

The EP15A has microprocessor controls for most of its functions. If a fault occurs, the microprocessor monitors the condition and will automatically

turn the unit back on after the fault is eliminated. The protection will try to keep power to your equipment as much as possible, such as in over-current.

In the event of an over-current during an amplifier being powered up, the EP15A does not shut off, it automatically switches the outputs to the wall power.

After the over-current event has passed, the EP15A switches the outputs back to regulated mode. This is all performed without user intervention.

The EP15A is ideal for complex systems or for the largest power amplifiers. Call us to find out why the EP15A is far superior to the competition's

product for far less money.

Features
High power rating to weight ratio: We offer 15A of current in a 30 pound, two rack hight unit.

No current limiting: We do not limit the current ever. If the current demand goes beyond 46App, then we switch output to the wall. When the current

demand drops below this, we automatically switch back to regulation

Tight voltage regulation: The output voltage is regulated to within 1% of 120Vrms, which is the US national standard for line voltage.

Patented technology: The advanced "feed-forward" technology found in the ExactPower voltage regulation products is protected by US Patent # 6, 653, 824.

Subcycle waveform correction: We correct the waveform virtually instantaneously. We do not sample the waveform or wait until the next cycle for

correction. We correct the waveform in real time.

Wide bandwidth: Our bandwidth allows us to removes high frequency irregularities from the waveform. It is like a dynamic filter. We actively remove

the aberrations, not filter them.

Digital Power Amp: The insertion amplifier is a High Efficiency, pulse width modulated, power amplifier.

Reduces THD over the power line: By having wide bandwidth and instantaneous correction, we automatically improve the THD of the waveform.

Improves current delivery: The nature of the technology stores the current and provides your equipment with the bursts of current that are needed in

demanding audio and video systems.

Low output impedance: The output impedance is significantly lower than the impedance of the power delivered by the wall receptacle.

EMI and RFI filtering: Even the widest bandwidth electronics cannot eliminate all the EMI and RFI problems, therefore we have incorporated custom

designed EMI and RFI filtering.

Eight "full contact" AC receptacles: We looked far and wide for the best receptacles, not just the so called "audiophile grade" receptacles. We found

one that has large contact areas with a tight hold.

Detachable AC power cord: We decided early on that the buyer of our unit may have a favorite power cord that they wish to use. We have a standard

15A IEC connector on the rear of our unit.

Vacuum fluorescent display: The beautiful blue display can be seen from across the room, so the voltage, current, or power can be monitored.

Rack mount option: If you need to place this unit in a standard 19" rack, we can supply a set of brackets for this.

The ExactPower SP15A has been designed to isolate and reduce unwanted noise from your Audio Video equipment for improved picture and sound quality.

The ExactPower SP15A provides 15 Amps of balanced current. The voltage on the output receptacles is symmetrical around the earth ground. The "Line"

and "Neutral" are of equal voltage and opposite polarity or phase. The voltage is 60Vac on each side of ground, so that the total output is 120Vac, which is

the US standard.

The critical part of the SP15A is the design of the transformer. The type of transformer that is used is a toroidal transformer. This is the only type that can

give the best results. The transformer must provide isolation, noise reduction, and inaudible acoustic noise. The transformer is wound with the bifilar method.

This method reduces the noise that is present on both incoming "Line" and "Neutral". This noise is called "Common Mode Noise". An electrostatic shield is

placed between the primary (input) side and the secondary (output) side of the transformer. This reduces noise by using a copper strip that is connected to

the earth ground. High frequency noise, that is on the primary, is shunted to the shield and then to ground, so it never reaches your components. Precision

winding provides for a consistent transformer. We utilize only the best materials.

We have two units to choose from, a unit without the EMI and RFI filters to be used with the EP15A, and a unit with the filters to be used as a stand alone

product. Although the unit with filters can be used with the EP15A, the filters would be redundant since the EP15A incorporates these filters. The SP15A

also incorporates filters for digital equipment on four of the receptacles. These filters block any digital noise that may be present on the power line of a

digital product from contaminating other products powered by the SP15A.

Features
Oversized Custom Toroidal Transformer: Meticulously crafted transformer with electrostatic shield. Utilizing computer controlled winding machines to

precisely place each winding for optimum noise rejection.

High Current High Frequency Filters: Filters to remove the digital noise from connected digital equipment.

Eight "full contact" AC receptacles: These receptacles are the same ones that are used in the EP15A. We use only the best Hubble receptacles.

EMI and RFI filtering: Even the widest bandwidth electronics cannot eliminate all the EMI and RFI problems, therefore we have incorporated custom

designed EMI and RFI filtering. (Optional)

AC line noise is everywhere
AC power line noise is everywhere in our modernized world. Appliances we use every day such as computers, refrigerators, washers, dryers, and air conditioning units; just to mention a few, can generate noise on the AC circuits you use to power your audio and video equipment. More and more buzzing fluorescent lights with built-in electronic ballasts are being utilized in homes. Household light dimmers are a known source of SCR switching hash that also finds its way to your A/V equipment through your outlets, not to forget the Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) that is all around us. Commercial radio stations broadcast using frequencies as low as 530 kHz in the AM band, and the signals from these stations are picked up on miles and miles of utility wiring – often ending up at your AC outlets. A new source of high frequency interference has come about with the advent of switch mode audio power amplifiers. These amplifiers (very often used to power subwoofers) can generate massive amounts of high frequency noise that often back-feed to other components through the AC power cord. When this unwanted noise and RFI gets passed to your audio and video equipment, its performance suffers. Most home entertainment devices have little or no AC filtering to prevent these AC line noises from causing their damage.

Forms of line noise
Unwanted AC line noise occurs in two forms: Common-Mode and Differential Mode. Common-Mode noise appears simultaneously on both the line and neutral conductors with respect to ground. RFI from radio stations, for example, is a form of common-mode noise. Differential Mode noise occurs between the line and neutral AC conductors and is in series (that is, rides on top of) the desired 50/60 Hz waveform. Computer power supplies, monitors, printers, and lighting dimmers are typical examples of the kind of appliances that can introduce DM noise into your household wiring.

The UltraPure solution
The UltraPure Symmetrical Wideband Filter uses a combination of multi-stage, heavy-duty filters, balanced isolating transformers, and a second set of AC line filters to reject both Common-Mode and Differential Mode AC noise and RFI from the AC outlets feeding your sensitive audio/video equipment. The UltraPure’s noise reduction capability extends to much lower frequencies than competing AC filters. The accompanying graph shows the reduction of noise at various frequencies from incoming power line or Output 4 (switchmode outlets) to symmetrical Output 1, designed to feed the most sensitive front-end audio components. At the relatively low frequency of 200kHz, UltraPure reduces differential mode noise by a factor of 3 million to 1, and common-mode noise is reduced by 100 million to 1! This exceptional low frequency rejection means that neither externally generated noise, nor noise backfeeding from a switchmode power amplifier will ever reach your sensitive head end components.

UltraPure Noise Rejection

*The above curves were made by combining the measured responses of the UltraPure’s Input Filter section, transformer section, and Second Filter sections.

The reduction in noise is exactly the same whether the it is originating from your AC line or from a switchmode power amp plugged into Output 4 of the UltraPure.

Benefits for your system
How does it sound? Eliminating the noise and RFI from your AC line means that your equipment will not have to amplify and process RFI along with the audio and video signals. The resulting lower system noise floor will allow more low-level subtleties like room reverb and precise imaging to come through. Midrange clarity is improved when the audio amplifiers don’t intermodulate with RFI, and the digital circuitry will tend to sound less “jittery”. Using an UltraPure to provide your system with clean, symmetrical AC power, will allow you to fully experience and enjoy all the promised performance from your system. .
