Some of our DIY Projects & Prototypes

These are fun projects we have built.

Borberly Class A Fully Balanced PreAmp

This is a Preamp built with a Borbely Class A SE Balanced All-JFET Line Amp with Teflon pcb, Caddock/Dale resistors, Mundorf Zink Foil Caps.

The Regulator is also a Borbely ALL-FET Dual regulator. The Power Supply is the Welborne PS5a.  All internal wire is from my Blue Dragon

Interconnect line. The rca's are Cardas GRFA, the xlr's are Nuetrik, The IEC is an ACME Silver Plated Cryod IEC. I used Silver Plated solid

core copper for the power supply wire runs. An ELMA Rotary Volume Attenuator series R was used in a modified configuration. This Attenuator

is not made for balanced operation as it is a 2 channel model, but there are ways around this. A Sieden 3 way switch was used, there are 2

unbalanced and 1 balanced inputs and 1 set of unbalanced and balanced outputs. A sexy Blue LED rounds off the list. Off course there are

a few other things in there but no point going into all that kind of detail. The sound? Delicious!!!! Money well spent. Is it the best Pre I have heard?

No, but it's performance exceeds it's cost two fold.

If you want more details on making your own let me now and I can point you in some directions.
